It has been a week for the millennials among us! On Tuesday afternoon, there was a flurry of excitement as it was revealed that all five members of '90s boy band NSYNC were spotted in New York City and were appearing at that night’s MTV Video Music Awards. The rumors were confirmed when Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass took the stage to present Taylor Swift with the VMA for Best Pop Video that night. Fans began to speculate if the group was teasing something (it wouldn’t be the first time), and now we finally know what it was: They are releasing their first new song in 20 years!

Fans have been waiting for this for a long time.

That’s right. More than 20 years since they released their last single, "Girlfriend," back in 2002, NSYNC is finally releasing new music.
The band got together to record the song "Better Place," which will be on the soundtrack for Trolls Band Together.
They've been teasing fans for days.
The band all but confirmed the rumor yesterday when they posted a video to the official Instagram page. In the video, they act out a scene from the Friends episode “The One With all the Resolutions."
"Do you know something?" Justin, in character as Joey, asks, and Joey Fatone answers as Rachel.
"I might know something," Chris says, taking over the Joey dialogue, while JC as Rachel replies, "I might know something, too."
"What's the thing you know?" Lance asks, with Justin quickly replying, "Oh no, I can't tell you until you tell me what you know."
"I can't tell you what I know," Joey Fatone says, before Chris replies with "Well, then I can't tell you what I know."
"Okay, fine," JC says before they all shrug playfully and walk out of the studio.
Rumors have been swirling about a reunion for weeks.
The speculation started in early August, when Justin posted an Instagram Story in the recording studio featuring JC wishing him a happy birthday. Fans were even more convinced something was coming when promotional posters for the new Trolls movie were spotted featuring the iconic NSYNC logo and a QR code.

The new trailer for 'Trolls Band Together' revealed all.
A snippet of the song can be heard in the latest trailer for Trolls Band Together, which also features Justin in character as troll Branch singing NSYNC’s first single, "I Want You Back."
In the film, the trolls find out that not only does Branch have brothers but also that they were the once popular boy band Brozone. The trailer even makes a joke about Justin's ramen noodle hair!
Fans are more than ready for the guys to get back together.
Fans have been buzzing about a possible NSYNC reunion on TikTok for weeks, but now with the confirmation of the song, it’s kicked into a fever pitch.
TikTok user Bethany Veach shared a video with updates about the song’s release, revealing that users can add it to their TikToks already.
"Better Place" will be released in full on September 29!
