Rumer Willis Slams Trolls on Social Media for Mocking Her ‘Nepo Baby’ New Mom Essentials

Even "nepo babies" have feelings, and Rumer Willis would like to remind people of that after a recent experience left her feeling unsettled. She recently created a post for NY Mag’s The Strategist where she shared some of her favorite baby products she discovered after welcoming her first child, a daughter named Louetta, this spring, and some of the comments were less than kind. Rumer has been very open about her motherhood journey so far and has fought back against unkind comments in the past.

She got brutally honest in her Instagram Stories.

"I was really taken aback at the level of negativity and just trolling," she said at the start of her post, along with the caption "please don’t be an a–hole."

"I know I should come to expect this because I know it’s just what people do, and think it’s okay to treat people that way," she continued. "Regardless of whether you like me or not or think I’ve accomplished anything in my life or not, I’m also just a human being who has feelings. I’m a sensitive human being. I would really greatly appreciate it if you weren’t so nasty to me or weren’t so mean to me."

Her feelings were clearly hurt by the rude comments.

In the post, Rumer talked about her favorite postpartum items, but her list didn't consist of items the average mom could just grab at Target. In her post, she mentioned her favorite $200 collagen cream and a $370 baby carrier, among other bougie picks.

Offering these items, which are unrealistic for most real moms to add to their registries, certainly seems to have rubbed people the wrong way.

She directly addressed those calling her a 'nepo baby.'

Rumer clarified that she is still figuring out her place in the world and wanted to share the products she did because they bring her joy and she thought they might bring joy to others.

"Even though you can label and call me a nepo baby or whatever it is, I’m also just a person," she said.

The comments on The Strategist's Instagram post about Rumer's list were pretty rude.

Although many comments on The Strategist’s post were positive, there were definitely some that make it easy to see why Rumer would have been hurt. It’s true that celebrity shopping lists are often out of touch with what the average person’s financial means are, but it also isn’t hard to simply not comment on something that doesn’t apply to you.

"You’ve definitely run out of material when you’re posting about the unaccomplished daughter of an actor and actress," one person wrote.

She isn't losing sleep over the haters.

Despite having her feelings hurt, Rumer seems to be taking the negativity in stride. She shared a photo of herself alongside boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas and baby Louetta with the caption, "My life is a gift, I have never been happier and feel more in love than I have ever been. I have the most wonderful daughter beyond my wildest dreams. And my story is only beginning."
