Meri Brown is opening up about the moment her former husband, Kody Brown, finally threw in the towel. For a long time, we've heard about how Kody no longer sees Meri in a romantic way, and it all came to a head on this week's episode of Sister Wives. On the show, Meri shared the exact moment Kody told her that their marriage was over: when the former couple got together to commemorate their 32nd anniversary. The couple announced their split in January of this year.

Meri recounted the full story of how Kody ended their relationship for good.
"At one point, he made some reference to faking relationships or something like that," she said in a self-taped confessional. "And I was like, 'Well, what do you mean faking?'"
Because the conversation between Kody and Meri wasn’t recorded, Meri showed the camera the way that Kody gestured between them at the table, insinuating that it was their marriage he was calling fake.
Kody didn't hold back on his true feelings.
Meri explained that she told Kody that she wasn’t faking their marriage, but it was quickly apparent that they were no longer on the same page. Not only did he question why she "bothered" to wish him a happy anniversary, but he also admitted, "We're not living as a married couple."
"I felt like in that moment he stopped himself from saying, 'Well, we're not married.' That was a big realization to me," she said later in the episode. "All these years, that's how he's felt about it? But I haven't known that."
Their relationship has been rocky for the last several years.
During the episode, Meri admitted that she asked Kody to take a "break" at the height of their marriage problems that stemmed from her catfishing scandal in 2015. And now, it seems there truly is no going back for their relationship.
"He actually said to me, 'I have no desire, Meri, to have a relationship with you,'" she said of the anniversary dinner, adding that it was the first time Kody told her their marriage was over.

Kody tried to claim that he never actually loved Meri.
"He has said to me, 'I never loved you and I never felt like that about you. I was trying to affirm it,'" she recalled later in the episode about an earlier conversation they'd had off-camera.
Meri admitted that Kody’s words were hurtful for her because of fears she had early in their relationship that he wouldn’t love her forever.
Meri is calling shenanigans on Kody's claim that he never loved her.
Meri called Kody’s words "a bunch of bulls—."
"Ask anybody that we know. Ask anyone who saw us in our early years, even ten years ago. And they would know that that's just a bunch of crap that he's spewing to … Maybe to try to justify how he feels now," she said.
In the episode, Meri recalled a conversation where Kody asked her to keep their split a secret for fear of "criticism" from the public, but she didn't give in to his demand.
"This is my story, too," she said. "And I have the right to tell my story."
