A year ago, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard was newly free again after serving eight years in prison following the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, who made her daughter a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy. Now, she’s adjusting to life as a first-time mom. On the one-year anniversary of Gypsy’s release, she and boyfriend Ken Urker have welcomed their first child, a baby girl.

Ken shared the news on Instagram.
On January 1, Ken shared the first photo of the family of three on Instagram that showed Gypsy cradling her new baby girl in a hospital bed.
“Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all,” he captioned the photo, adding an angel emoji.
Their baby girl is already a few days old.
According to People, Gypsy’s rep confirmed that the couple’s daughter, whose name is Aurora Raina Urker, was born at 9:48 a.m. on December 28. She weighed 6 lbs., 5 oz. at birth.
Aurora’s birthday is significant because she arrived exactly one year to the day after Gypsy was released from prison.
Gypsy and Ken announced in July that they were expecting.
Alongside maternity photos that showed off Gypsy’s baby bump for the first time – with ultrasound photos of their baby-to-be – Ken wrote, “I’ll be a dad in January 2025.”
The couple celebrated their baby shower in November, less than two months before Aurora’s birth.

Gypsy recently opened up about the meaning behind her daughter's name.
While talking to People in December, Gypsy shared the story of how she and Ken chose their daughter’s name.
“Back whenever Ken and I were together seven years ago, both of us have a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis,” she said. “I think it was maybe in 2018, we wrote each other’s future kid’s name on pieces of paper and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing each other was picking it.”
We may not see a lot of Gypsy's baby girl now that she's here.
In a TikTok video that Gypsy shared – and later deleted – in November, she explained that she was hoping to have a more “private” life as she entered motherhood.
“I will no longer be posting personal content on this public platform,” she wrote at the time. “Since I was released, I have shared with supporters my hardships and achievements through the lens of social media. However, I find myself at a crossroads that leads me to desire a more private life sharing with only family and close friends these special moments.”
Gypsy added, “This decision was made with consideration to the well-being of my own mental health that as well as the overall wellbeing of my family and daughter. We are all doing very well and are in good spirits, excited for our futures moving forward. Thank you.”
