Kids can always trust their grandparents to support them with their hobbies and career aspirations. Apparently, that also goes for Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, who has officially learned how to capitalize on that name outside of simply getting entry to the best golf courses in the world. According to the The Wall Street Journal, Kai is now selling shirts with her initials on them.
Yes, Kai has a large enough group of staunch supporters that it’s officially time for her to roll out merch. And, The Wall Street Journal reported, Kai appeared on the White House lawn clad in one of her monogrammed sweatshirts, alongside her grandfather. We are dangerously close to Kai or Trump straight up offering merch to reporters so they can wear them at press briefings.
Apparently Trump’s granddaughter Kai has a large enough fan base for merch.

Kai’s website even features a large banner photo of her in one of her signature sweatshirts on the White House lawn. She just might be an expert grifter already, following in the footsteps of her family who has unabashedly sold merch and promoted merchandise that, well, promotes the Trump name above all else.
The website lists three women’s sweatshirts and three “unisex” shirts that are all priced at $130. Can you really put a price on supporting the granddaughter of the leader of the free world? Well, as it turns out, yes, yes you can. Kai, who is the daughter of Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr., wrote on her website that her line of sweatshirts is something she has “dreamed about for a long time.” Yes, the lack of diverse designs and styles really says that.
“I’m so grateful it’s finally here,” Kai wrote on her website.” Launching this line has been such an exciting project. From the quality of the fabric to the details in the designs, I wanted to create a piece that isn’t just merch but a staple you can wear anywhere. There are clean pieces you can mix, match, and make your own. I can’t wait to see how you style them!”
After Kai’s website went live and Trump shared the news of her business endeavor at the White House, people had thoughts. Naturally. When one TikTok user shared a video about Kai’s line of shirts, she jokingly called Kai’s clothes a “revolutionary design” before popping out of frame to show the simple shirt on Kai’s website.
“$130 sweatshirt and they couldn’t even give you 100 percent cotton?” The TikTok user says, in reference to the shirt’s fabric listed on the website.
She also points out in her video that the cost of Kai’s sweatshirts is significantly higher than the average person might want to spend on one clothing piece. She ends her video by saying that, while Kai is just 18 years old, she believes Trump’s granddaughter could do with some “perspective” and “self-awareness.”
Some of the comments weren’t as forgiving, though. One user commented under the video with, “Why would anyone want to wear someone else’s initials? I wouldn’t even want to wear my own.”
Someone else was quick to point out how they see the design quality: “100% it’s a Fruit of the Loom with a Cricut vinyl.”
Another apparent Kai critic wrote, “Is the revolutionary design in the room with us?”
