Former ‘Real Housewife’ Fired From New Series After Racist Bad Bunny Post

Since Sunday’s Super Bowl, plenty of celebrities and viewers have been reacting to Bad Bunny’s halftime performance, and one former Real Housewives star is among those who wasn’t a fan (to put it mildly). After Jill Zarin shared a racist rant against Bad Bunny’s performance, she has been fired from the new Real Housewives of New York series, The Golden Life.

Jill has deleted her rant, but the internet is forever.

Though the video has disappeared from Jill’s Instagram account, where it was originally published, it was saved and uploaded elsewhere, including X.

Calling it “the worst halftime show ever,” Jill said, “It’s 250 years that we’re celebrating right now in the United States, and I just don’t think it was appropriate to have it in Spanish.”

Jill went on to say that she believed it was “inappropriate” for Bad Bunny to be “grabbing his G-area” in front of an audience that includes kids before accusing him of focusing too much on politics (and on non-white people).

“To me, it looked like a political statement, because there were literally no white people in the entire thing. I think it was a political statement, and I’m not taking a side one way or the other, I just do. I think it was an ICE thing,” she said.

She has now been fired from The Golden Life.

Jill was set to join her former Real Housewives costars (including Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer) in a new spinoff series called The Golden Life that will air on E!. But the production company behind the show, Blink 49 Studios, has already released a statement to multiple outlets confirming that Jill will no longer be part of the show.

“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life,” said the statement (via People). “We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”

Jill says that the network “didn’t even give me a chance.”

Jill spoke out about the situation in an interview with In Touch that was published on Tuesday, and it sounds like she feels she’s been treated unfairly.

“They didn’t even give me a chance,” she said. “I took it down right away. People make mistakes. I’m human.”

Be that as it may, Jill still lost out on the opportunity because she posted a racist rant in the first place. Is that really considered a mistake?
