People Think Karoline Leavitt Is To Blame for Trump Calling Himself a ‘Doctor’

There are many things that Donald Trump seems to think he can do better than other people, and being a doctor in the form of Jesus is apparently one of them. After he posted and then deleted an AI image of himself as Jesus, he backtracked and claimed to reporters, according to The Hill, that he thought he was depicted as a doctor.

Now, people think they know why Trump described himself as a doctor in that image, and it’s all because of Karoline Leavitt. Well, sort of. In a TikTok about the theory, a user points to how a comedy account on X (formerly Twitter) quoted Leavitt as saying that the AI photo was “doctored.” This, according to some, got back to Trump, who mistook “doctored” for “doctor.” And honestly, it’s not the wildest theory out there by any means.

Trump might have mistaken the word “doctored” for something else.

In the TikTok, the user points out how a troll X account quoted Leavitt as saying, “President Trump’s Truth Social post depicting him as Jesus was a doctored image.” I mean, obviously, right? It was 100% AI and even the least online person can see that the image is fake. But when you take Trump’s understanding of things versus what they actually mean, you have a “doctored” versus “doctor” scenario.

A person replied to that trill account on X, in a screenshot in the TikTok, and wrote, “Oh my God, was Trump told to tell the press that the image was ‘doctored,’ but misunderstood and told everyone he was depicted as a ‘doctor’?”

Maybe that’s not necessarily what happened, but it would make sense, if Trump misheard or misunderstood that his team told him to say about the AI image. Because I think we can all agree that it is supposed to depict him as a Jesus figure.

The TikTok user points out that, given a certain “pattern” from Trump, this checks out.

“If you recall, at the beginning of the Iran war, he went around describing it to everybody as a little excursion,” the TikTok user says. “We did a little excursion. We had to take this little couple of weeks, few weeks of excursion. In all likelihood because his team told him it was an incursion, or at least encouraged him to describe it as an incursion. But President Brain Damage heard excursion.”

It all makes sense now when you think about it.

People commented on the TikTok to share that it makes a little more sense to them, given this theory. Does it make sense for a sitting president to post an AI-generated image of himself as a religious leader? No, that part is still quite bonkers. But, other TikTok users wrote in the comments under the video, the misunderstanding could be legitimate.

“It is the fact that this makes EVERYTHING make sense at once for me,” someone commented.

Another user shared, “As a former special education teacher for more than two decades, I have had to decipher the misunderstandings of children who suffered from severe learning disabilities as well as traumatic brain injuries and THIS is exactly what is happening.”

On Instagram, when an account shared a theory with the same X posts, someone commented, “Seems like everyone is missing the observation/point being made lol. Trump was most likely told to say that the image was doctored, and he’s so dense that he thought they told him to say he thought he was a doctor in the image. And it honestly makes soooo much sense.”

Trump seems to misunderstand a lot of things that he openly gets wrong to the public.

Someone else who commented on the TikTok pointed out another instance where Trump misunderstood something and spoke about it before fact-checking, double-checking himself, or asking literally anyone’s opinion.

“Throwback to when Trump thought Elon Musk’s Tesla invented the lightbulb because he read it was invented by Nikola Tesla,” they wrote.

Another added, “He also called Greenland, Iceland. Probably because he thinks it’s Greenland in the summer and Iceland in the winter.”

The TikTok user also points out an instance from Trump’s campaign in 2024 where he made another verbal mishap by mixing up words.

“In 2024, when he was campaigning for president, he described immigrants as being Hannibal Lector, because in all likelihood, he heard the word asylum and he thought that meant insane asylum,” she says. “People from insane asylums, and it drives them crazy. Hannibal Lecter.”
