The journey to parenthood isn't always an easy one, and for many celebrities, infertility and loss are part of that journey. Although it can still be a bit of a taboo topic, many famous moms have opened up about their miscarriages, sharing what that was like with the world, as hard as that kind of vulnerability may be. Even though they (along with their partners) have had to go through incredibly difficult experiences to get there, many of these moms have gone on to welcome rainbow babies.
Although people don't often like to talk about it, it can be surprising to find out who has had to cope with a loss like this. Before she and Jay-Z welcomed daughter Blue Ivy, Beyoncé had a loss, and Gabrielle Union has spoken on more than one occasion about her struggles with IVF and her multiple miscarriages before welcoming daughter Kaavia via surrogate in 2018.
Truth be told, there are many celebrities who have welcomed rainbow babies after having miscarriages, and their stories are incredibly inspiring. It's hard to imagine what that kind of pain must be like without actually going through it, but the way these women have continued on in the face of such heartbreak is amazing — and it makes it all the sweeter to see them celebrating their kids who are the rainbows at the end of the storm.
Read on for celebrities who have had losses and now have living children. Surprisingly, it's not that uncommon — and hopefully, anyone who has had to go through this difficult experience won't feel so alone.
Beyoncé
In her documentary Life Is But a Dream, Beyoncé revealed that the first time she was pregnant, it ended in a loss.
"I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I've ever written in my life," she said, according to HuffPost. "And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I've ever been through."
Now, Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z have three kids: Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir.
Pink
Today, Pink has two children — Willow and Jameson — but when she was 17, she had a miscarriage. In an interview with USA Today, she revealed that she felt like her body failed her, and even though she was young at the time, she did want to have that child.
"When that happens to a woman or a young girl, you feel like your body hates you and like your body is broken, and it's not doing what it's supposed to do," she said. "I've had several miscarriages since, so I think it's important to talk about what you're ashamed of, who you really are and the painful [expletive]. I've always written that way."
Nick Carter
In 2018, Nick Carter was open about the fact that his wife, Lauren, had a miscarriage. They had been expecting a baby girl. "God give us peace during this time," Nick tweeted at the time. "I really was looking forward to meeting her after 3 months. I'm heartbroken."

But in 2011, she and Nick Cannon were able to welcome twins Monroe and Moroccan.

Kailyn Lowry

Catelynn Baltierra isn't the only Teen Mom cast member who has dealt with a loss. Before ending her marriage to Javi Marroquin, Kailyn Lowry had a miscarriage, and she felt that Javi blamed her for it. Later, she ended up having two more baby boys, Lux and Creed, with Chris Lopez.

Brooke Shields
As Brooke Shields told Fertility Today, she had a miscarriage after her first round of IVF.
"Maybe I really wasn't meant to have kids," she said. "I didn't want to be happy anymore for the many other people who were having kids. I knew that their blessing had nothing to do with me, but it felt like a slap in the face."
But then, on her next round, Brooke became pregnant, and now, she has two teenage daughters, Rowan and Grier.
Breanne Racano
Breanne Racano and husband Jerry Ferrara were able to welcome a baby boy in May 2019 after having a miscarriage a year earlier. In an Instagram post where she announced she was pregnant, Breanne also opened up about her heartbreak.

Giuliana Rancic
On her reality show, Guiliana & Bill, E! host Guiliana Rancic was always open about her struggle with infertility. Now, Wendy has an adult son named Kevin.
Jana Kramer
Although One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer now has two children, daughter Jolie and son Jace — who she shares with ex-husband Mike Caussin — it wasn't an easy road to get there.
"When Mike and I first got together, we were having trouble conceiving, so I went to the doctors and started the process of IVF," Jana said in a vlog. "We had only three embryos and we implanted the two embryos. I ended up getting pregnant but we had a very, very early chemical loss."

"I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second."
Since then, the Duchess of Sussex has given birth to a daughter named Lilibet.
