The 'floodgates really opened.'
“When I made an announcement that I was going to pursue these cases, the floodgates really opened,” Buzbee said during the interview on October 2. “In about a 10-day period, we got about 3,200 calls. And then from the press conference we had [Oct. 1], we’ve had 12,000 calls.”
The lawsuits include abuse claims from people who were minors at the time.
It was revealed that among the 120 cases taken on by Buzbee, 25 of them are for people who were minors at the time of alleged abuse. People responded to the number of victims who have stepped forward.
Combs' mom recently spoke out.
Comb’s mom, Janice Comb broke her silence by releasing a statement in which she described her son’s charges as “a public lynching.”
“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies,” she said. “To bear witness what seems like a public lynching of my son before he’s had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words.”
She admitted that he's not perfect.
“I am not here to portray my son as perfect because he is not. He has made mistakes in his past, as we all have,” she continued. “It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or affording him the opportunity to present his side.”
The disgraced rapper is being held in federal custody in Brooklyn after being denied bail twice, according to People.
