Elon Musk’s Drug Test Results Are Deemed ‘Suspicious’ After He Insists He’s Clean of Illegal Substances

Elon Musk is no stranger to accusations that he regularly uses drugs and other substances, especially as he stepped into the political public eye while working with President Donald Trump after he took office earlier this year. But now that he’s finally trying to set the record straight and prove he’s clean, many people aren’t convinced the results he shared publicly can actually accomplish that.

The most recent (and widely publicized) round of drug rumors began when the New York Times reported that sources close to Elon claimed that he supposedly uses ketamine daily, along with ecstasy, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and Adderall.

In response to these allegations, Elon took to X on Tuesday to share his drug test results from a lab called Fastest Labs of South Austin – all of which are shown as “negative.”

He captioned the photo of his results with a simple “lol.”

As an employee from the lab pointed out to People, however, Elon could have had enough time to flush the drugs out of his system before taking the test because urine drug tests only “detect drugs that have been ingested within the last 2-10 days” and are not as reliable as hair follicle tests.

Many people aren’t being swayed by Elon’s results, though, and some even believe he “cheated” to get those negative results.

“The richest man in the world does not have the resources to cheat a p— test? Give me a break,” one person wrote in response to Elon’s post on X.

Another commented, “interesting that the amount of time that has passed since allegations were made is the same length of time it takes for the evidence to be metabolized so it doesn’t show up on a test.”

The Times isn’t backing down after seeing Elon’s results, either.

“Elon Musk is continuing to lash out because he doesn’t like our reporting,” the news outlet shared in a statement to People that was also shared on X. “Nothing that he’s said or presented since our article about his drug use during the presidential campaign was published contradicts what we uncovered. We stand by our journalism.”
