Fans Think Anna Duggar Might Write a Tell-All Book To Make Money as Josh Serves Prison Sentence

It’s been more than two years since Josh Duggar began serving his federal prison sentence in Seagoville, Texas. We don’t know about what the former 19 Kids and Counting star’s wife, Anna Duggar, is doing these days — or how she’s managing financially with seven children to raise. Knowing that money must be tight at this point, some fans believe that Anna will write a tell-all soon, and they might have a point. After all, who isn’t interested to hear what went down from her point of view?

Anna has been lying low since Josh's conviction.

In December 2021, Josh was convicted on charges of possessing and receiving child sexual assault material and ordered to spend more than a decade behind bars. Since Anna has basically disappeared from social media, it’s been hard to keep up with what she’s doing these days. As far as we know, she’s relying on in-laws Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar to make it through this time.

Some people believe that Anna could end up breaking her silence in a huge way.

As TVShowsAce pointed out, fans on Reddit have recently debated the likelihood of Anna writing a tell-all memoir. It sounds like some people don’t just believe this likely — to them, it’s inevitable, due to the paycheck that would come with it.

“If she turned on [Josh] and the Duggars, she could write a serious tell-all and if she was willing to dish dirt, it would fly,” one person wrote.

“I’ve read multiple books about completely unknown people who escaped cults,” another commented. “I’m not sure how much they made, but if someone unknown with a similar story can have a well received book for Anna she’d probably do very well at first.”

Some don't think Anna would ever spill her guts.

Some people didn’t think she’d make enough money for it to be worth her while. One wrote: “Book deals for reality tv people aren’t big money makers. Sure, she will make a little money but not enough to provide for 7 children for long.”

One person even speculated that Anna has already turned down a book deal, writing, “I’d bet my rent that publishers have reached out to her and she has said no.”

If Anna wrote a book, she wouldn't be the first in the family to do it.

Jinger Duggar wrote a memoir first with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, called The Hope We Hold. That book was followed by Becoming Free Indeed, which focused more on herself and the reasons she left her family’s cult-like religion, the Institute in Basic Life Principles.

Her sister, Jill Duggar, also wrote a book, Counting the Cost. Jill didn’t shy away from calling her parents out on the poor treatment she’s received, particularly in adulthood.

Anna may not speak out anytime soon.

After all, Anna did have a fairly large platform with her Instagram account, but she deleted it years ago. And while she does still use X (formerly Twitter), she rarely posts there and mostly sticks to retweeting political messages, especially during the 2024 presidential election.

Still, plenty of people are curious about hearing her side of all of this. A book could be a good way for her to make some cash if she really needs it.
