HGTV Star Speaks Out on ‘Devastating’ Health Rumors After Report Claimed She Could Die

Fans have been concerned about 74-year-old HGTV star Hilary Farr after concerning rumors have been circulating claiming that her health has her hospitalized and on a downhill spiral that could lead to her death.

The former Love It or List It star took to Instagram this week to clear up the rumors, and fortunately, she’s doing just fine — other than being a victim of some seriously terrible AI photos that were generated to get clicks.

The report showed Hilary in a hospital.

In the background of the video that Hilary shared on Instagram, we can see a photo of a woman who looks like her laying in a hospital bed and wearing an oxygen mask. The report claims, “The physician caring for Hilary Farr’s cancer has provided a devastating update on her health: ‘She might never be seen on TV in the future.'”

However, Hilary is here to confirm that’s not actually the case, and that the photo that is being used of her was created by AI — what a relief!

According to Hilary herself, this report is totally fictional.

“So, look at this thing. Really. It’s so badly done,” she said in the video. “I hope none of you would really take any of this seriously and realize it is just fake beyond words.”

She added, “Well, I’m here to prove that. So, just checking in. All’s good with me, hope all’s good with you.”

The comments are flooded with people who are glad to hear that Hilary is alive, well, and doing just fine, whether they happened to fall for the false report or not.

The TV host has been open about her battle with cancer in the past.

Back in 2021, Hilary revealed in an interview with People that she had quietly battled invasive breast cancer while filming Love It or List It, which required her to undergo both multiple surgeries and radiation to treat the disease. Fortunately, she has since reached remission.

“Fear of breast cancer stops a lot of women from getting checked. But as terrifying as it is, you face it,” she told the magazine. “Thinking that you should keep it a secret or just power through doesn’t help and it doesn’t heal,” she says. “If I can change that for one person, then that’s enough.”
