Jinger Duggar Admits to Using Products From a Controversial MLM Company

It doesn’t matter which member of the Duggar family we’re talking about: None of them are strangers to controversy. This time, it’s Jinger Duggar coming under fire for a topic she brought up during a recent episode of the podcast she cohosts with husband Jeremy Vuolo. She admitted that she uses products from a controversial multi-level marketing company, or MLM. Is she going to get hate for this?

Jinger and Jeremy shared the clip from their podcast on Instagram.

Here, Jinger talks about wanting to make using “clean” household products a priority for their family.

“We see so many people getting sick around us and we wonder why,” she said. “That has got me thinking more about what we’re putting into our bodies, what things are around our house. … I am not super crunchy, but I think that I’m starting to realize I want to make the small changes.”

Jinger said she wants to stop using 'toxic' everyday products.

“Years ago I switched over my general cleaning products — things that I use for all-purpose cleaner to spray down the countertops,” she said. “I have glass bottles with Thieves cleaner in them. It’s a healthier version of cleaning, so it still sanitizes, cleans, disinfects, but it doesn’t have all that toxic chemical.”

The cleaner Jinger mentioned comes from a brand called Young Living.

According to the brand’s website, Thieves household cleaner is made with “proprietary suspension of safe surfactants (wetting agents) and Thieves® essential oil blend,” which includes clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus, and rosemary essential oils.

Young Living has come under fire in the past for its pyramid scheme-like structure, as well as its members making false claims about the healing powers of the brand’s products in the past.

Jinger has already been called out for her comments.

She got a new sponsor.  She has joined the California Living Non Toxic Life movement,” one of Jinger’s critics on Reddit wrote on a popular Duggar-centric subreddit.

Others thought it was hypocritical for Jinger to talk about health. One wrote, “I’m sorry, but she’s looked like she’s had the life sucked [out] of her for years. She’s had no color to her face and looks sickly all the time.”

This isn't the first time Jinger has mentioned supporting an MLM.

During a 2023 Instagram Q&A session, Jinger told fans that she enjoys doing Beachbody workouts, which are part of another MLM company, so it seems that she’s no stranger to this type of controversy.

Good for Jinger for taking control of the products she uses in her household – but maybe there’s a better way to do it?
