
Meghan Markle has made it clear that she loves jam, but she’s not the only one. Just after the Duchess of Sussex announced that her lifestyle brand will launch soon under a new name, Kate Middleton spoke about her love for homemade jam and offered to share her signature jam recipe for free. On Wednesday, the Princess of Wales revealed that she enjoys making her own jam when speaking to volunteers at a community garden in South Wales.

Kate has her own recipe for homemade jam.
Kate learned that young volunteers at a community garden were growing their own plums and using them to make jam, Hello! magazine reported. Upon learning this, the Princess of Wales offered to share her own recipe with the volunteers for free. “I’ll send you my plum jam recipe so you can try it,” she told them, per The Sun.
On February 18, Meghan Markle announced she will soon start selling her jam.
In March 2024, Meghan unveiled her new lifestyle brand, which she called American Riviera Orchard at the time. About a month later, she sent jars of strawberry jam to some of her friends. Then, nearly a year later, on February 18, took to Instagram to share that her brand will finally launch soon, but under the name As Ever. In spite of the name change, Meghan assured her fans that she will still sell jam.
“Of course there will be fruit preserves,” Meghan said in the Instagram video. “I think we’re all clear at this point that jam is my jam.”

Apparently, it’s Kate’s jam, too.
Though Kate and Meghan both seem to love jam, their signature recipes differ. While Kate has her own recipe for plum jam, strawberry jam is Meghan’s specialty, per the Daily Mail. In addition to her beloved fruit preserves, Meghan will also be selling other products through her As Ever brand.
At this time, it’s unclear exactly what will be available. On Instagram, she described her brand as “an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish — food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday.”
Meghan explained the reasoning behind her rebrand.
In the video, Meghan explained that she faced limitations when operating under the brand’s original name. “Last year, I had thought, ‘You know what? American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name.’ It’s my neighborhood, it’s a nickname for Santa Barbara, but it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area,” she said.
In the caption, she explained what “As Ever” means: “As ever’ means ‘as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always’. If you’ve followed along since my days of creating The Tig, you’ll know this couldn’t be truer for me.”
