NBA player Tristan Thompson has been suspended for 25 games without pay for violating the basketball league’s drug policy. Thompson is most famous for having two kids with reality TV star Khloé Kardashian and his multiple cheating scandals.
He has been playing in the NBA since 2011, playing for several teams over the years, including two stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, which is the team he currently plays for and has been suspended from.

The NBA was the first to announce its decision.
The NBA confirmed Thompson’s suspension in a public statement, explaining that he was being suspended for “violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program by testing positive for ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033.” His suspension begins with tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Cavs also released a statement, standing by both the league and Tristan.
The Cavaliers released a statement on social media regarding Thompson’s suspension as well.
“The Cleveland Cavaliers fully support the NBA/NBAPA Anti-Drug Program, and we are disappointed in the recent news surrounding Tristan Thompson,” team officials wrote. “His time away from game action will have an impact on our team. We stand behind Tristan and offer our support throughout this suspension period.”
Here's what you need to know about the drugs they found in his system.
According to the National Institutes of Health, ibutamoren promotes the release of growth hormone from the pituitary gland. SARM LGD-4033, also known as Ligandrol, is used to increase muscle growth and increase energy, which can enhance athletic performance, according to WebMD. Both substances are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
There's not much information about how this will affect his salary.
According to The Sporting News, Thompson signed a one-year, $3.2 million contract with the Cavs this summer to help rebuild the team. It’s unclear how the suspension without pay affects his overall income and how that loss of money will affect his child support payments.
In addition to his two kids with Khloé, True and Tatum, he has two sons: Prince with ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig and Theo with Maralee Nichols.

There's a funny meme going around already.
Even though Khloé hasn’t publicly commented on Thompson’s suspension, she is still going viral in relation to the news. X (formerly Twitter) user Molly Morrison tweeted a screenshot of Khloé looking shocked, with the caption, “so you’re telling me he got suspended for……..cheating.” The tweet has gotten over 5 million views.
