What to Know
Long before she played a lawyer on TV, Kim Kardashian has had a passion for righting the wrongs in the U.S. legal system, especially where the courts are concerned. Not only has she been on a journey to get licensed to become a real life attorney herself, but she has also worked hard to advocate for those behind bars she believes deserve clemency. And now, she’s putting her money where her mouth is and putting up her All’s Fair wardrobe for auction to raise money for women’s legal aid.
Kim announced the auction on Instagram.
Sharing photos of outfits she wore on the show, Kim shared that too often, legal costs get in the way of women finding the safety and protection that they deserve from the law, so she wants to do her part to change that.
“This Friday, March 27, I’m auctioning off my Season 1 wardrobe from All’s Fair to help close that gap,” Kim wrote. “100% of net sales will go directly to the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles to fund their free legal services for women who are fighting for their safety, their children, and their futures.”
She continued, “The right to a lawyer shouldn’t depend on the balance of your bank account. For many women, legal aid is the only bridge to a restraining order, a fair custody agreement, or the chance to rebuild a life from scratch. Supporting survivors means more than just helping them leave; it means ensuring our justice system recognizes the reality of abuse.”
The auction officially started on March 27.
Bidding opened at 9 a.m PT on the family’s Kardashian Kloset website, where Kim and her sisters (and occasionally, their kids) have offered up their secondhand clothing for a few years now.
It looks like many of the most desirable pieces are long gone already, though — or priced into oblivion. It seems like Kim was truly wearing some very big names (and multiple archival pieces) on the show, because the auction includes some impressive designers.
Unfortunately, most of her items aren’t at a reasonable price, with one John Galliano set already receiving a $49,000 bid just hours after the auction opened for the day.
Kim put serious thought into the outfits she wore on screen.
Some of the pieces that are for sale are priced pretty widely — after all, many of them come from high-end designers — and by Friday afternoon, they hadn’t been bid on yet. Who has over $40k to drop on a previously worn Dior dress? In this economy?!
Still, it would be awesome if the auction becomes a huge success, just because of the ladies (and children) those proceeds would be able to help. There are still two days left for fans to get their bids in before the auction closes at the end of the weekend.
