Kylie Kelce Gets Brutally Honest About What Being Freshly Postpartum Is Really Like

As Kylie Kelce settles into life as a mom of four, she’s getting real about what the fourth trimester is really like for new moms. On this week’s episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie shared her thoughts on being postpartum, especially when it comes to the parts that people don’t talk about nearly enough. Even after being around the block a time or two, there are still certain things about this phase of motherhood that she’s really not a fan of.

Kylie highlighted just how ‘uncomfortable’ this time can be.

On this week’s episode of the podcast that premiered on June 5, Kylie decided to share how she really feels about the fourth trimester – or the first few months after birth when both mom and baby are adjusting to this new life change.

Kylie admitted that having three other little ones to care for does “distracts you to some extent” from just how “uncomfortable” this time can be. But sometimes, that means she’s so busy she forgets to shower, drink water, and even eat, even though she’s “the hungriest I’ve ever been.”

Feeding brings its own challenges, no matter how you do it.

Both breastfeeding and formula feeding come with their own drawbacks, especially during those early weeks when mom is still trying to learn her newborn’s cues. Breastfeeding can also be painful, or as Kylie vividly described it, it can feel “like hot, fiery needles to your nipples.”

She’s really painting us a picture here!

Getting dressed with her new body is a totally different monster.

After addressing the beast that is postpartum hair loss, Kylie boldly stated, “I will say, I think one of the most f—– up, twisted things after giving birth is trying to get yourself dressed.”

“That s— is wack. You try to put on pants, and you think to yourself, ‘I don’t have a pregnant belly anymore; these are going to fit.’ And then, the zipper is – it’s not even one of those situations where you zip up the pants and the button is giving you a hard time – the zipper won’t even touch,” she said. “The zipper said, ‘We’re at odds right now. We are not coming together.’”

She’s trying to give herself ‘grace.’

It might be a while before she’s back in her prepregnancy clothes, but because the body changes that come with growing and giving birth to a human can be a wild ride, she’s trying to be kind to herself during this time.

“I bought bigger jeans and some new flowy dresses for the summertime. Because everyone loves a breeze, and that’s all I have to say about that,” she said on the podcast.

Good for Kylie! The postpartum period can be a real trip, but fortunately, it’s also temporary – even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time.
