"Bronny’s doing extremely well," James said during the LA Lakers media day, via CNN. "He’s began his rehab process to get back on the floor this season with his teammates and USC."

He called Bronny's surgery "successful," adding, "he’s on the up and up. It’s definitely a whirlwind and a lot of emotions for our family this summer, but the best thing we have is each other."

Family was of the utmost importance during Bronny's recovery.

LeBron made it clear that he believes the only way to get through something so harrowing is to gather up all the love you can muster and show up for your family.

"We stuck behind each other and gave Bronny strength throughout the whole process and we’re happy to see where he is today. We look forward to seeing what his future has in store for him," he said.

LeBron was aware that the outcome could have been very different.

He was also full of appreciation and respect for not only USC coaching and medical staff for their response to Bronny’s sudden medical issue, but also those at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Mayo Clinic, where Bronny received further treatment.

"Nothing else matters beside my family," he said. "No matter what’s going on in your life at that point in time, the only thing that matters is your family. So to see what he’s been through over through last few months, it’s been a lot."

LeBron is playing this season in honor of his son.

Bronny’s medical incident was certainly a shock to the family.

Because of the ordeal they’ve endured this summer, LeBron shared that "obviously I’m going to dedicate this season to Bronny," adding that what happened to him "puts everything in perspective."

Bronny's not hitting the basketball court just yet.

So far, nothing is confirmed for Bronny's future on the court, but his coach, Andy Enfield, had positive things to say about the young player when he spoke to media last month.

"Bronny's doing very well," he said, via ESPN. "But we just can't comment on anything medically. He's going to class and doing extremely well in school, and we're really excited for him. His grades are excellent right now, and he's being the true student-athlete."
