15 Stars Who Accidentally Shared Their Own Nude Photo

For as long as the internet has existed, celebrities have been dealing with nude photo leaks. But sometimes, the only person they have to blame is themselves. While some celebs choose to post racier photos of themselves on purpose to show off their assets (Hi, Kim Kardashian), others have accidentally sent a pic to Twitter, Instagram, or even Snapchat that they actually meant to send to their significant other… or keep to themselves entirely.

Chris Evans and his Instagram slip may be the latest, but he's definitely not the first celebrity to accidentally expose his goods to thousands — if not millions — of people online, and he certainly won't be the last. Many, many celebs have fallen victim to exactly how easy it is to share the wrong thing on social media in a matter of seconds… and of course, once it's on the internet it's out there forever. People are super fast with their screenshots, after all.

Read on for stars who have accidentally exposed it all on social media, along with what happened and the way they handled it. Even stars like Chrissy Teigen and Tori Spelling have given up the goods online without intending to, and although it might have been embarrassing at the time, they lived to tell the tale.

… just like Chris will.

In September 2020, Chris Evans made headlines when he was on Instagram, sharing a video of his phone screen. And since he didn't edit it — or, apparently, watch it — first, he ended up showing his camera roll, which featured a photo of a penis. He deleted the video, but the screenshots live on the internet forever now. At least Chris is keeping a good sense of humor about it all, using the attention to encourage people to vote.

Going all the way back to 2012, Allison Pill accidentally tweeted a topless photo of herself laying in bed. Like Evans, she deleted it, but plenty of people had the chance to save it first. Later, she tweeted an explanation, writing, "Yep, that picture happened. Ugh. My tech issues have now reached new heights, apparently. How a deletion turned into a tweet… apologies."

Whitney Cummings

After comedian Whitney Cummings accidentally shared a nude photo on her Instagram Story, she deleted it. Then, months later, those who had screenshots threatened to release them if Whitney didn't pay them off. Instead, she decided to release them herself.

"When a woman in the public eye is extorted, we have to spend time, money and energy dealing with it, hiring lawyers and security experts, and living with a pit in our stomach about when and how we will be humiliated," she explained in another tweet. "Y'all can have my nipple, but not my time or money anymore."

Add AnnaLynne McCord to the list of celebrities who accidentally ended up tweeting a nude photo! In 2012, she posted a pic that showed her nipple without realizing it, later cropping it and reposting the pic so it was a bit more family friendly. She released a statement to Global Grind about the situation that said:

"My only response to all these lovely people is, 'He who be without sin cast the first stone.' If you have never messed up or done anything wrong in your life, then please, feel free to judge me."

It's debatable how accidental Usher's photo of himself in his steam room was in 2016, while he was giving his fans a tour of his home. But when he posted the pic on Snapchat at the time, he was totally nude from head to toe. Could he possibly have wanted to share a view like that with thousands of people at the same time?

Soulja Boy

Soulja Boy has also fallen victim to accidentally sharing nudes, but for him, his medium of choice was Tumblr. In 2012, he shared a pretty explicit and up close photos of his penis on his account before deleting them quickly. Instead, he wrote a short and simple apology to anyone who caught it in time that said, according to Perez Hilton, "I apologize to ever seen that, accident."

Tori Spelling

It actually wasn't Tori who shared her own nude photos on accident, it was her husband, Dean McDermott. He accidentally posted a photo of her breasts in 2011, when he was trying to share a selfie with their son. But little did he know that Tori had just finished breastfeeding and was topless in the background of the pic.

The CNN host and famed brother of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo also ended up accidentally nude on the internet in early 2020 when he was in the background of his wife's video, completely in the buff. Christina Cuomo was just trying to share a video of herself doing yoga, but in the process, we learned that her husband actually likes going outside in the nude, which is way more information than we ever bargained for.

Chrissy shares a lot on social media, and one of those things just so happened to be her nipple — but she didn't do it on purpose. Back in 2017, Chrissy's post-spray tan video on Snapchat revealed a little more than she wanted to, but fortunately, she didn't get too upset about it. Later, she just tweeted, "whoops," according to Mashable.

Twitter strikes again — and this one is a major throwback. In 2010, Courtney Love shared a nude photo of herself sitting in a chair, showing off her booty (by accident), though she later tweeted that the picture was actually meant to be sent to her boyfriend — not thousands of her followers on social media. After the incident, she decided to take a break from Twitter, not that we blame her.

Though this former One Direction singer didn't give the goods away, he did accidentally share a pic of his abs on his Instagram Story in 2019 that he didn't mean to. There was no mistaking that it was him, since his full sleeve of tattoos was totally in view. He quickly deleted the post, but fans everywhere had already seen it.

Hayley Williams

Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams accidentally shared a topless pic on Twitter in 2010, and even though she deleted it soon after, plenty of people saw it, spread it, and decided to follow her on the platform because of it. She did have a good sense of humor about the whole thing, though, later tweeting, "Pretty much my day has consisted of folding and organizing clothes. You aren't gonna believe this … but … I have a whole lot of shirts."

Marcus Jordan

Michael Jordan's son, Marcus, sent his nudes via Twitter, too. The incident happened back in 2013, when Marcus accidentally posted a photo of his penis, later sharing that it was an accident. But to make matters even more confusing, according to Rolling Out, Marcus also claimed that he had been hacked, and that's where the photo came from. He even said he didn't send those apology tweets, either.

Hmm…

In 2013, Shiri Appleby shared a photo of herself totally nude while sitting on the edge of a bathtub, and it definitely seemed like an accident — but maybe it wasn't? Some people wondered that, since it was timed to the release of her guest starring appearance on Girls — where she was also nude — it was meant to drum up a little publicity.

Back in 2011, Russell Simmons shared photos of his girlfriend at the time, Melissa George, by accident. (He was the only one who was ever meant to see those pics.) Later, he tweeted more appropriate photos of Melissa, writing, "Earlier I mistakenly posted & then erased semi nude picture of my baby."
