Amber Portwood was broken by how things unfolded between her and her ex-fiancé, Gary Wayt — and now fans can see just how deeply the situation affected her. In a new episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, which aired on Thursday, September 12, cameras gave a vulnerable look into how the 34-year-old television personality reacted to the news that police had found Gary safe several days after he disappeared following their engagement, along with how she handled rumors that she had murdered the man.

She says they were truly in love.
In the episode, ahead of her psychiatry appointment, Amber told the show's executive producer, Kiki Malone, how much the situation hurt her. “This man broke me. I was stable. Right now, this is the first time in years in my life — I am 34 — I am not f—–ing right because a man put a ring on my finger. You broke me because we were actually in love.”
Amber believes Gary didn't have a reason to leave.
“The day that man left for no reason — I’m going to say no reason because there was no f—–ing reason — he ruined something so f—–ing good. Why am I getting persecuted?” she continued.

She didn't take well to people calling her a murderer.
Continuing to address the rumors that she murdered Gary, Amber broke down. “I had to deal with that. Do you know how that feels when people are calling you a murderer to your f–—ing fiancé?" she said through tears on the show. “He doesn’t know what he did. They were calling me a murderer. They said I f–—ing killed him.”
Amber is hurt by how this entire ordeal involved her daughter.
Amber says it was more than just the relationship between her and Gary that caused so much hurt when things ended how they did; it was also the future he had proposed that included her daughter, Leah. “If you want to show what heartbreak is, this is it. It’s not just about a man. He looked at my family, my daughter and just asked to be a big, happy family.”
Gary is reportedly engaged to another woman.
News of Gary being engaged to a new woman surfaced in August. A source close to Amber told US Weekly that the mother sent a message of congratulations to her ex but is still healing from what took place.
“She is still reeling from the whirlwind experience. As long as Gary realizes that he will always be Amber’s ex, best of luck,” the source said.
