People often do or say things that they normally wouldn't after having a little too much to drink, but there are some things that are just unforgivable no matter how intoxicated the person was. And sleeping with your husband's father is definitely one of those things. In an anonymous essay on Kidspot, one woman is opening up about what led her to have "pity sex" with her father-in-law.
The woman begins by saying that her husband is unaware of what happened and that their marriage would be over if he ever found out.
"It may sound hard to believe but it all started in the most innocent way," she said. "With me just wanting to help someone I care about to feel better."
The woman and her husband, Ben, have been married for five years and they have a daughter together, Leila.
A few months ago, Ben's mother died of cancer. "The whole family was devastated — no one more than Ben’s dad Phil," she said. "Phil was finding it lonely and difficult to cope at home on his own, so Ben suggested he come and stay with us for a while, and I happily agreed. Ben’s parents have always been so wonderful to me, and if there was anything I could do to help, I was keen."
Phil came to stay at their house and had been there for about a month.
Since his wife died, he had been drinking pretty often. The woman explained that he would have a few whiskeys after dinner and get "drunker and sadder until eventually he was tired enough to sleep."
During the day, while Ben was at work, Phil would help out by playing with his granddaughter. "Phil and I grew close during this time as we spent so much time together," she said.
Then, Ben had to go away for a few days for work...
"I wish I had begged Ben not to go," she said. "But of course, it’s not the fact that Ben left us alone that was the problem, it was my poor decision making."
Ben was gone for three nights, and the first two nights were completely normal. "Phil and I kept busy looking after Leila, and when she went to bed, we had a couple of drinks together and then went to bed."
But, on the third night, things went WAY too far.
The woman shared that they stayed up late and had a few too many drinks. "I know it’s no excuse but the whiskey was flowing and I just felt relaxed and let my guard down."
She continued: "He was so sad and when I gave him a big hug, things started to feel intimate. Before I knew what was happening, his mouth was on mine and then clothes were flying everywhere and we were having sex on my kitchen table. The place where I sit and eat breakfast with my husband and daughter every morning."
She then said that it was over quickly and they went to sleep in there own separate beds. "When we woke up the next morning I told Phil what happened was a mistake and that it can’t happen again." Phil agreed with her and decided not to speak of it again.
When Ben returned home, they all carried on as normal.
"Phil hasn’t said anything or even hinted at it, but when he thinks Ben isn’t looking, he’ll sometimes grab my hand or my bum and give me a squeeze."
She'll glare at him in return, but she's scared to say anything in case he tells Ben what happened between them. Now, Phil has been there for over three months and he’s "showing no signs of leaving."
"It looks like I’m going to be punished for this for a long time yet, and it’s no less than I deserve," she said.
WOW. That is one messy situation!
