Every bride wants to have the perfect wedding, but sometimes it comes at a serious cost. Just ask one woman on Reddit, who had a day-ruining confrontation with two guests after they completely disregarded an important rule at her wedding. On her invitations, the anonymous bride explicitly told guests that both the ceremony and the reception were going to be "kid-free" events, but of course, this couple seemed to think that the statement didn't apply to them. The bride stood her ground but now, the woman is starting to feel regretful for sending them packing and asked the Internet for some other opinions on whether she did the right thing. "Am I the a*shole?" she wondered.
The drama started after redditor Buildingtile invited family friends to her "child-free" nuptials.

In a thread posted to Reddit, the bride explained that she clearly told guests that no kids were invited to her upcoming wedding. But lo and behold, one couple showed up with a baby and a toddler in hand, despite the clear instructions. All the other guests had complied with the request.
At first, the bride let the rule breakers slide, thinking that surely they would take their kids home after the ceremony. But nope, these people tried to bring their tiny tots into a reception full of adults who were about to get rowdy.
The bride said she didn't want to get into a fight with the couple on her big day, so she sent her wedding planner to do the dirty work.

Buildingtile explained that she really wanted to have her wishes honored on her wedding day — plus, these kids were already starting to get cranky. But as she saw her event planner start to argue with the couple, she knew she was going to have to step in.
Of course, things didn't get better once the bride confronted her guests. They argued that they "were capable of minding their own children," but Buildingtile wasn't having it. In the end she told them "they needed to go."
"I really hate that my wedding day had to be somewhat marred by this incident," the bride explained. "According to my mother, everyone was talking about it and I guess enjoying a little dramatic entertainment."
"Was I the a-hole for making them leave?"
Overwhelmingly, people online thought that the bride was not in the wrong for putting her foot down.
"Absolutely Not The A*shole," one person assured her.

"If you can't find a sitter you don't go," wrote another

And some people couldn't tolerate their entitled attitude.

In the end, Buildingtile updated her original post and said the confrontation did cause some hurt feelings for members of her family. "I have now learned that a few family members felt that it was inappropriate of me to kick out the couple. (The wife apparently is still angry about getting kicked out and the husband is FALSELY telling people that we threatened to call the cops on them)," she explained. "No one has said anything directly to me though."
But the bride said that she no longer feels bad about what she did. "The feedback here has helped me not to feel guilty about that and just realize that not everyone has the same ideas about tact and manners," she said.
