Pregnant Wife & Best Friend ‘Test’ Husband’s Loyalty & He’s Furious

It's never a good idea to trick your spouse or loved one. But what if you having a sneaking suspicion that your spouse is messing around behind your back? One can only assume that was the reason why one woman and her best friend decided to "test" her husband's loyalty in a series of tasks. But he said there was never any reason for her to be suspicious in the first place. Fed up, the husband wants to know if he'd be wrong for telling his pregnant wife that he's had enough of her crazy shenanigans and he wants her to move out.

The dad-to-be noticed that the longer his wife has been pregnant, the stranger her actions have become.

As the man explained in an exasperated post on Reddit, his wife's little tests started at the dinner table. "She gets angry and irritated for small things, insults me when she doesn't like the food I make, starts acting insecure and accuses me of losing attraction for her," he wrote.

"For example, she wanted to eat chicken sandwiches for dinner last week. Well, I made chicken sandwiches. So she eats all the sandwiches, leaves me nothing and told me that they tasted like (expletive)," he continued. But as of late this has become a pattern. He'll make his wife food and she'll tell him that it tastes bad.

That alone would be annoying and test any relationship, but the husband shared one recent anecdote that has pushed him over the edge. "Yesterday, a random girl starts at flirting with me after the gym and asked me if I wanted to meet up with her for some drinks. I rejected her and told her that I was married," he wrote. Little did the man know that his wife had set up the meet-cute and when he came home, she congratulated him for "passing" her test.

"My wife started to hug me and apologize," she wrote. "She told me that her best friend suggested a test for my loyalty. So they asked a mutual friend to flirt with me and asked me out."

She was excited that he passed but he was feeling anything but joy…

"I'm really (expletive). I'm done with her antics." Would he be wrong if he asked her to move out?

Some people urged the man to consider that his wife's hormones might be part of this.

Pregnancy hormones gets even the best of us, they argued. "Pregnancy does crazy things to woman’s hormones, it could be that her actions are not the result of being a terrible person, but a hormonal imbalance," one person wrote in the comments.

"Pregnancy hormones can trigger mood disorders, anxiety disorder or even psychosis, or make an existing mental condition worse," another person agreed. "If [Original Poster's] wife has suddenly gone off the deep end after getting pregnant, she needs medical attention."

"If initially they were happy and excited, it might be the pregnancy hormones," someone else wrote. "I’ve heard a lot of pregnant women feel very self conscious. Not saying she isn’t an ass for testing his loyalty which seems to have become a trend now."

But other people weren't buying the "pregnancy brain" excuse.

"Yikes, you can't blame every personal fault on hormones," one person wrote.

"I've seen it too many times already, people just 'chalk up' toxic and borderline abusive behavior to pregnancy all the time," another person added.

"Everyone thinks pregnancy is being used as an excuse when it's merely used to explain the cause. Being pregnant doesn't make bad behaviors okay. It just explains why someone is behaving that way and they need to get help," a third person wrote.

Later in the thread, the man clarified that he wasn't planning on ending the relationship or kicking his wife out: He just wanted his wife to move to another house they own. He added that before she was pregnant she wasn't like this. "I told her many times not to insult me and I told her explicitly to order something for herself if she wanted anything special," he wrote. "She said ok. But it never stops. She wants me to make it because she loves my cooking. She also wants me to know that it tastes like (expletive)."

But ultimately he must have decided to wait to see if things get better after the baby. is born "I've changed my mind," he wrote. "I don't think I'm telling her anything."
