Walmart’s Best-Selling Blazer Looks Good With Everything & Here’s the Proof

The opportunity to look "cool" is relatively fleeting in my life since I've become a mother. When I work from home, I might brush my hair and put on my least stained shirt, but my effort absolutely stops there. On a day I make my way into the office, I do put forth some effort, mostly to remind myself that I am a whole person that needs to feel and function like one. But the truth is, figuring out what to wear can be an emotionally and monetarily taxing experience.

When I buy anything, I need it to serve several purposes. Can I get away with this in the office? A dinner with a colleague? A date night? A night out with friends? While these occurrences are rare in my busy working mom life, they do happen, and when they do, I like to be prepared with something I can get a bit of use out of.

Enter this Time and Tru draped front blazer from Walmart.

The thin crepe material and flowy design give this blazer a ton of versatility. Available in sizes S-XXL, the blazer runs for just $25 — and considering the amount of clout it has received, it's a total steal.

"I'm very impressed with how nice this is," wrote one user.  "This is very professional and would definitely be twice the price in department stores. I got both colors. I LOVE the curved hem that covers the bum in the back without looking boxy like 'his' blazer. This still looks feminine and hip. Crepe material looks high end and perfect for spring and summer. Thank you for these!"

And people were ready to pair it with everything they had: "It is so stinking cute, can be worn casual with tee shirt and jeans, or with a cami skirt or dress pants really a great find," wrote another.

So in an effort to see if this blazer was really worth all the accolades, I decided to give it a test run by styling it as three different outfits.

(P.S. I promise I am not flashing the wall.)

First let's talk about the fit.

The Pros:

I really loved the ruched sleeves and the length. It totally does cover my butt, and is nice and long — perfect for that oversized "effortless" look. The body was very flowy, and I think it really does give it an elegant touch and a nice silhouette. The material was very lightweight, so I agree with the reviews — it is perfect for the office in spring and summer.

The Cons:

I requested an XXL size (being a rather plus-size lady), and unfortunately the arms were extremely tight. I could move, but it definitely wasn't as comfortable as I'd like it to be. And it being so tight in my arms, it made the crepe fabric almost itchy in a way.

However, if there was a bit more give in the arms, it would have been a 5 out of 5 stars for me, because I love the looks I was able to cultivate with it. Check out some of my favorites here:

The Night Out Look:

For the first look, I wanted to pull together something edgy but casual. The band T-shirt and blazer look is a classic one, but paired with comfy bike shorts (seriously, hop on this trend if you haven't yet) and a studded boot, it gives it a cool twist.

The jacket's flowy nature gives it a lot of movement, making it a far less formal blazer.

The XXL "closed" rather easily for me and was relaxed enough to help me pull off this look. If you wanted to rock something a little more feminine, consider wearing printed bike shorts or ditching the clunkier books for strappy heels or sandals.

The Casual Look:

Let's face it, 99% of the time if I am in clothes, I'm wearing the most basic uniform of a T-shirt and jeans. And truth be told, you can't argue with a classic. But my simple white T-shirt and cuffed capri jeans are definitely elevated thanks to this blazer.

I think what really takes this casual look to the next level is the details.

The red handkerchief I fashioned as a small neck scarf and my (not pictured) red flats gave this plain-jane outfit the pop of color it needed. This is obviously a versatile and adaptable style to meet whoever's tastes as they see fit.

The Office-to-Date-Night Look:

For my final (and favorite) look, I present this stroke of genius. By belting the blazer over the same basic white T-shirt tucked into a flowy skirt, I changed the entire look of this blazer.

The belt I chose for this particular outfit was inspired by a retro-esque style.

However, depending on your goal, you could swap the style belt and skirt to capture a completely different vibe. The idea really is to give this unfitted blazer a little shape, giving it an entirely new look and feel.

All in all, this blazer is worth investing in.

I super loved the versatility and really appreciated the overall aesthetic. And for just $25, it's a total steal!
