A cut crease is one of the most difficult eye shadow techniques to master, especially if you have deep set eyes. Unless you plan on staring down at the ground day, if you use your socket bone as a guide for your lid color, all of your hard work will be out of sight the moment you looking straight ahead.
Luckily, Nicole Guerriero demonstrated a trick you can do while carving out your crease with concealer that will get you the ideal placement for showing off your cut crease all day.
For Guerriero's trick, start by applying your crease colors as you normally would.
Don't worry if you get some of the eye shadows on your lid, you will get a chance to clean it up later.
Next, load a flat shader brush with your favorite full-coverage concealer — Guerriero used the MAC Select Cover Up Concealer — and place it on the center of your lid, keeping it close to your lash line.
Once the concealer is on, just look up and it will create a stamp above your crease that will serve as a guideline.
Using the stamp of concealer as your jumping off point, draw a line towards the inner corner of the eye and shade in your lid.
You can take the concealer halfway onto your lid like Guerriero did here, or your entire lid depending on the look you're going for.
Apply your lid color right on top with a flat shader brush to keep that border you created looking sharp.
The result will be a cut crease on fleek!
And the best part? This trick will allow you to show off your eye shadow skills while your eyes are open and you're looking straight ahead.
Your cut crease will not get lost in the sauce any longer.
