Ever since I was young, I've always liked showering at night. I'm not a morning person, so showering in the evening just makes more sense to me. In high school, I was a competitive gymnast, and I practiced four hours a day, six days a week. When I got home after practice, I was always sweaty and covered in chalk, so I would eat dinner, shower, and do my homework. In the mornings, I was always disappointed in the way my hair looked, so I would throw it into a ponytail and go about my day.
Although it's been ten years since I did gymnastics, I still shower at night and I still regularly fall asleep with wet hair. I'm always uncomfortable having a wet pillow and I constantly toss and turn. In the morning, my hair always looks… bad. I've always hoped I could find a solution — I've tried putting towels on my pillow, but they always fall off; I've tried sleeping with my hair up, down, everything in between; I've tried protective styles; I've tried hair wraps — nothing really worked.
Thankfully, everything changed when I discovered Kitsch's Microfiber Towel Pillow Cover. That's right, a towel pillow cover. What could be better? The pillow cover has elastic straps to keep it attached to the pillow, a microfiber material that dries hair while you sleep, and a waterproof lining that keeps the pillow dry.
As soon as I got the towel pillow cover in the mail (I received it in PR), I couldn't wait to try it out. That night, I slid the pillow cover onto my pillow and took a shower.
Because it wasn't quite time to go to sleep yet, I threw my hair into a ponytail with another Kitsch favorite: my towel scrunchy. Eventually, I was ready to go to bed, so I took my hair down and headed to bed.
Although my hair wasn't soaking wet anymore, it was definitely still damp. When I woke up in the morning, not only was my hair dry, it was also manageable! It wasn't frizzy, it wasn't bent in weird places, it was just… good. I've since used my towel pillow cover with super wet hair straight out of the shower, and — once again — was totally impressed with how comfortably I slept and how dry my hair was in the morning.
If you want one of these life-changing towel pillow covers, you can get one at Kitsch for $24!
