Viral Video Shows Woman Walking Down NYC Street With a ‘Looking for a Husband’ Sign

Most people will tell you that dating these days can be a challenge. Society is busier than ever before and people are getting married later in life. Taking the time to get to know someone and form a bond can take a backseat to careers, friendship, personal interests, and casual sexual encounters. So if you know you want commitment and something more long term, you might have to do things a bit differently.

One model and influencer from New York City did just that and ended up going viral on social media as a result, thanks to her "Looking for a Husband" sign.

The whole thing began as a joke.

Karolina Geits, a 29-year-old woman living in New York City, garnered a lot of attention walking around the concrete jungle with a handwritten cardboard sign that read simply: “Looking for a Husband.” Geits told Fox News Digital the sign initially started off as a joke.

"We had a discussion with friends that dating apps [were] not working because it takes a long time to chat," she said. That’s when Geits said she should just go outside with a sign.

Geits was tickled by the response to her sign.

The next day, she actually did it. She used a box she’d received in the mail, wrote her message, along with her social media handle, and hit the streets.

The video of Geits’ bold act has gained over 10 million views on TikTok and 1.2 million likes since it was posted on September 3. Geits said it was funny to watch the responses from people as she walked by.

Many people supported her.

The TikToker was surprised to find many people were in favor of her actions. “I didn’t expect such a reaction,” Geits said. “People began to support me.” Some even took it a step further and sent dating profiles for her to consider. Apparently, the profiles she’s seen thus far don’t live up to her standards though. Geits said she’s looking for “the best.”

We might be seeing more signs like these in the future.

This is not the first time Geits has shared a message with NYC. In other videos, she held signs that said, “Need money for Cartier,” and another one that said, “Need money for Chanel.” TikTok users believe this sign might actually work in her favor. Others are thinking about trying to idea out for themselves.

“So you’re telling me to run to Hobby Lobby and get some markers and a poster board LOL,” someone commented.

Geits is appreciative of the support and shared that she would let users know when she found “the one.”
