Speeding Driver Flees Deadly Car Crash Leaving 4-Year-Old Passenger to Die in the Back Seat

Police in Los Angeles are searching for a driver after a deadly car crash. Following the incident, the driver evidently fled the scene, not sticking around to make sure the passengers in their car were OK. The driver’s negligence led to the death of a child who was in the car. Two other passengers in the car — both adults — were also injured.

Currently, police are relying on good Samaritans to give them any possible leads as to where the driver may have ended up.

Police responded to the scene of the car crash around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, KTLA reported. The person driving the car had crashed into a building before fleeing the scene. They were driving a white Infiniti FX35, which police found smashed into the corner of the building.

The Los Angeles Police Department said it believes the driver had been speeding. They likely lost control, veering off the road. “The driver of the vehicle failed to remain at scene and render aid to a 4-year-old passenger in the vehicle,” police said in a statement KTLA published.

Firefighters arrived on scene, finding the 4-year-old boy and two adults trapped in the car, according to Fox 11. All three victims were taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Later, the boy died at the hospital. The two adults, one of whom was the boy’s mother, were seriously injured. No additional information was given about their conditions.

Police believe that the driver, who was described as a Black woman, possibly in her 30s, took off in a different white sedan after the crash. Now, authorities are still working to figure out what caused the car crash.

In an attempt to get more information, police are offering members of the community a reward of $50,000 if they can give any details that could lead to them finding the suspect.
