Mom of Abducted 4-Year-Old Begged Multiple Neighbors for Help Before She Was Allegedly Killed by Husband

A Florida mom allegedly killed by her husband reportedly begged multiple neighbors for help before her death. Eventually, a neighbor did offer the woman protection, but he was also killed. The woman had an order of protection against her husband, which was violated and led to her death.

After the mom was allegedly killed by her husband, police say he abducted their 4-year-old daughter. Thankfully, police found and caught the father, saving the little girl. Currently, he is in jail.

Around 6 a.m. on February 16, 2025, the Broward Sheriff’s Office received a call about a shooting, CBS News reported. Police found the body of a man who was later identified as 64-year-old David Pozner. Pozner is the father of 34-year-old Mary Gingles, the mom allegedly killed by her husband.

At the time of the body’s discovery, police also found that Mary Gingles’ daughter, 4-year-old Seraphina, had been taken from the home in Tamarac. An Amber Alert was issued. Police believe the girl was taken by her father, Nathan Gingles. When the Amber Alert was issued, police believed Mary Gingles was with them.

“As we’re going in, we even were looking around to see if we see the little girl,” witness Janae Love told CBS News. Love had seen the Amber Alert for Seraphina. “Came out and they found the little girl thankfully.”

Shortly after 11 a.m. Nathan Gingles and his daughter were found at a Walmart in North Lauderdale. Mary Gingles was not with them.

She was found dead later that afternoon in a home a block away from where her father was found dead. An unidentified neighbor spoke with Local 10, telling the news station that Mary Gingles ran from door to door asking neighbors for help. The neighbor pointed out footprints on the ground, claiming they were from Mary Gingles. With Mary Gingles’ body, police found the body of another man who had been shot, 36-year-old Andrew Ferrin. Ferrin was the nephew of an area homeowner.

In a statement, BSO spokesperson Carey Codd said that the girl was “located safe and unharmed.” Nathan Gingles was taken into police custody.
