Police in Texas have arrested two teenage girls in connection with a potential planned attack against a local high school. The unnamed girls, 15 and 16, reportedly caught the eye of the FBI on February 18, 2025. The FBI believed the threats warranted the attention of local police. With the help of Montgomery County, Harris County, and Spring Branch Independent School District, law enforcement officials located the girls within 30 minutes of the FBI’s call.
According to ABC 13, the teens allegedly planned an attack involving pipe bombs at Memorial High School in Houston. The 16-year-old suspect attended the high school her freshman year but attended Academy of Choice, an SBISD alternative school, this school year. The 15-year-old attended Willis High School.
Spring Branch ISD Police Chief Larry Baimbridge told ABC 13 the teens met while attending off-campus classes a few months back. They allegedly communicated via social media, planning the attack. The FBI reportedly intercepted those communications and moved in to stop any violence.
“I got the call around 2:45-ish Tuesday afternoon, and about 3:15 p.m. she was in custody,” Baimbridge said. “And so was another female.”

As he explained, “(Their plan) was to place pipe bombs in various locations throughout the school and utilize weapons to shoot classmates. They were pretty specific on some of the tactics. It was surprising some of the knowledge of police tactics.”
SBISD school board President Lisa Alpe lauded the police for moving so quickly.
“I’m extremely pleased with how quickly law enforcement handled this situation. We got the tip from the FBI, and the SBISD police did an amazing job,” Alpe told ABC 13. “We live in a different time, where unfortunately, we have these threats against schools, but I would take comfort in the fact that we prioritize safety and security number one. We have an excellent police force that is well-trained, and they handle these cases very seriously.”
Baimbridge told ABC 13 that the Spring Branch suspect reportedly admitted to the threats and that her mother is cooperating with police.
“Obviously, there’s a deeper problem going on. I feel for the parents. I talked to the mom for some time. I see she has a sense of despair. What else can she do,” he told the news outlet.

The Montgomery County sheriff’s office confirmed there is no further threat to the community and issued the following statement, which KPRC obtained:
“The safety and security of our schools and community remain our highest priority. We understand the concerns this situation may cause for students, parents, and faculty, and we are taking every necessary precaution. Additional security measures have been implemented, and we continue to work closely with school officials and our law enforcement partners to ensure a safe environment. We encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. If you see something, say something. This investigation is in the early stages, and we are reviewing all available evidence. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.”
Because of their ages, the suspects’ identities remain undisclosed.
