17 Girl Names Perfect for Little Libras

For parents who are expecting a baby to enter the world sometime between September 23 and October 22, a Libra is on the way. Astrological signs aren't science, but for those who love reading about them or believe in the characteristics of each, a Libra baby is one of the best.

Why? Apparently, Libra babies have easy temperaments, and get along well with others. As a bonus, they like to have their world all neat and tidy – and a strong sense of what's right and wrong. These are obviously generalizations and a lot of how our babies' personalities come out are based on their upbringing as well, but for those parents who just sat through August heatwaves while pregnant, it's a fun little gift in the Libra babies. And what better inspiration for a beautiful name than their astrological sign?

So for parents expecting a fall girl baby we've rounded up some adorable names that are inspired by Libras.

ADONIA

We're big fans on baby girl names that are not common and that's why we love Adonia. It's never been on a top 100 baby list ever before and it's currently not on people's radar. It's a Greek name meaning "feminine beauty," and it's very fitting for a little Libra girl.

VIOLET

Every astrological sign has a ruling planet – one that helps balance out the vibe of the sign. For the Libra, it's the planet Venus, and if we connect that to the Latin goddess, Venus, she would always carry violet flowers with her. So, Violet may be a closer nod to the purple flower, but there's a subtle and sweet connection to the sign as well.

OLIVE

We've seen the baby girl name Olivia as one of the top baby names and for some, the popularity has pushed the name out of the potential list. However, this small twist, turning the name into Olive instead, it's a great option. Also, with the whole olive branch connotation, it has a really kind and chill vibe to it β€” just like a Libra.

VENUS

There are two connections that come along with the name Venus: either the planet or the Greek goddess of love. The word in Latin means "the loved ones" or "beloved." It's a beautiful name for a loved Libra child and an ode to what they’re going to bring into the world.

AUTUMN

We've got girl names for many of the seasons β€” Winter and Summer are two big ones β€” and Autumn is a great option as well. The nod to Libra is obvious given babies in this astrological sign are born in the mid-September to mid-October range, right at the start of fall.

MELINA

For parents who really love the name Melissa, but want something a little less popular, Melina has the same sort of feel for the name, but it's far less common. The name means "little honey" or "gentle" which are darling meanings to base a baby name off of.

DOVE

When we think about Doves, the bird, we know they come with the symbolism of peace and are often included in joyful ceremonies like weddings. The name translates to mean "bird of peace" and that's another one of those characteristics we've come to love about a Libra.

SAPPHIRE

Sapphire is a name that comes from the beautiful and elegant blue gem by the same name. That gem is the birthstone for the month of September, the seventh month, both of which have connections to the Libra astrological sign.

ADELAIDE

What a pretty name, right? The name Adelaide is one that's never been on a top baby name list, but it's one that we've heard a few times before. The name stems from a German word that means "noble" and it's a great word to describe the characteristics of babies born at this time of year. We adore the nickname Addie, too.

DAISY

Flowers that are often associated with a Libra include the daisy flower. These are sweet and dainty flowers of white and yellow and it's also a name given to little girls.

MABEL

We have a soft spot for baby names for girls that are on the shorter side, and Mabel just sounds sweet, which helps, too. The baby name meaning for Mable is its connection to the sign because it means "lovable" and seriously, every Libra is just that β€” full of love.

Every month has a signature birthstone that helps to make the time stand out and they're often given in pieces of jewelry to signify the important event that happened during the month. It just so happens that Opal, which is a sweet old-school name, is the birthstone for a Libra.

HARMONY

When we think about the word harmony in terms of music, it means chord progressions that have a pleasing effect, and that right there is why it's a great Libra fit. A name that has a pleasing effect, even when it's out of the context of music and into our little girl's name, it's a win-win of beauty.

SERENA

When we hear the name Serena, our mind automatically connects serene to the name, which helps us feel peace and calm β€” and there's a reason for that. This name is derived from the word, so it comes along with the tranquil feel, and that vibe fits right in with the Libra.

CHARIS

Charis is a beautiful gender neutral name that is a gorgeous option for parents looking for a name that's not one that's heard a million times over. The name translates to mean "grace" which is definitely a quality of a Libra who is known to be calm and balanced in her personality.

NANAMI

For parents who would love to choose a name rooted in Japanese, Nanami is a gorgeous option that means "seven seas." The name isn't super popular in the US, and hasn't ever ranked in the top 100 list, but that should be a great point for parents who want a more unusual name. Given the Libra sign is the seventh, this is a sweet subtle nod.

LIBRA

Now, this one may be super obvious as a nod to the astrological sign, but we feel it should be mentioned because it's so obvious it's easily overlooked. We love the name Libra for a little girl, especially one who was born a Libra. It's a sweet way to honor the sign's personality traits and the joy that comes with raising a Libra.
