Flying with kids is not fun. They get tired easily, they whine, they want snacks constantly, and they have to pee roughly every 30 minutes. As parents, we do what we can to try to make plane trips go smoothly and not p*ss off other passengers. But a viral Instagram photo has people wondering if one mom went too far in appeasing her kid on a recent flight. People are seriously divided after a mom let her toddler go to the bathroom on a potty seat in the aisle of a crowded airplane.
The Passenger Shaming Instagram account shared a photo of the mom and her daughter mid-potty.
"BACKSTORY: Parent brings own potty seat on board, sets it in aisle mid-flight to have child use (in front of everyone)," they explained. "When discovered by crew, [she] was advised she couldn’t do this & would need to utilize the unoccupied lavatory … and her reply … 'I don’t give a sh*t!'"
The photo quickly amassed hundreds of comments, with many people arguing that this is revolting and totally inappropriate.
Others said the mom should have been arrested for exposing her child that way.
But some actually defended the mom, citing everything from dirty plane bathrooms to how hard potty training is as an excuse for what she did.
Potty training may be rough, but it's probably not a good idea to set a precedent for people peeing and pooping in the middle of plane aisles, even if they are little kids. Yes, flying with children is rough and plane bathrooms are a nightmare. But a plane full of bathroom germs and dirty kid toilets sounds equally nightmarish. Let's hope this remains an isolated incident.
