When you're a kid — OK, an adult, too — is there anything better than a good cheeseburger and fries? As soon as you order your meal, you look forward to sinking your teeth into that delicious delicacy. Well, maybe delicacy is a stretch, but you get the point. But what if your meal is ruined by your own mom and the careless way she decided to serve it to you?
It can be devastating when the presentation isn't what you expect, and that's just what happened to a toddler on TikTok.
His mom was just trying to help.
TikTok mom Ericka Lauren is a mom of three, including toddler twin boys. She was serving up a quick dinner for the kids when she decided to cut her son Grayson's burger up into quarters to make it easier for him to eat.
Well, Grayson was positively appalled by his mother's actions. Sadly, she ruined his burger, causing all kinds of feelings.
Grayson just wanted a whole burger.
In the video, Grayson is seen crying as his mom pans the camera over his meal. It looks great, four bite-sized pieces, but Grayson thinks otherwise. Lauren asks him to tell his dad why he is crying, and little Grayson moans, "My cheeseburger broke!"
The look on his face says it all. It is no longer a happy meal for this sweet little guy.
Dad jumps in with a suggestion.
Grayson's dad asks his mom if she can put the cheeseburger back together for him. Knowing darn well that wasn't an option, she says, "That's the best I can do." And poor Grayson is left to suffer through his meal with a broken burger. It is a sad sight to behold.
Followers felt Grayson's pain.
Hey Grayson, it's OK bud, TikTok has your back.
"Not gonn lie..I used to cry about this too!" one person commented. "Especially if my hot dog bun wasn't connected hug that baby for me and tell him he's not alone."
Some wondered if this was a new presentation for Grayson.
"Maybe he is used to things another way," one person suggested.
"OK to be fair if I was 2 and always had a whole burger previously, I'd also think it's broken and probably inedible and I'd be sad," wrote another commenter.
"I saw that handburger and knew right away what was wrong!!" exclaimed one person. "I'm [with] you little one! What were they thinking."
And, of course, parents could feel Grayson's mom's pain.
Who hasn't had a child have an irrational meltdown about something? Every parent has been there and sometimes we just need to come together.
"[I'm] old now but i remember these days," one person reminisced. "[I] totally understand."
And then there are the parents who just haven't learned their lesson: "My son won't eat the cuties if we split them apart of course my husband feels the need to and he has a melt down everytime."
Followers shared funny moments from their own childhoods as well.
"Y'all act like y'all weren't kids before I'm sure we all cried over something stupid. I remember wanting a dollar &crying bc my mom gave me 4 quarters," a follower recalled.
Thankfully, Grayson got what he wanted.
Lauren posted a follow-up video of Grayson sitting with that familiar yellow wrapper, ready to enjoy his burger. But this time, it is whole. Sort of. Grayson appears to have deconstructed the cheeseburger and is enjoying the patty while the bun sits on the table. Oh, the irony, Grayson. The irony.
