Whatever your New Year's Eve plans might have been, there's a very good chance that they weren't quite as eventful as what former Beverly Hills 90210 star Ian Ziering experienced as he rang in 2024. Ian ended up in a biker gang brawl on Sunday while he was driving in Los Angeles with his 12-year-old daughter, Mia, and now, the 59-year-old actor is speaking out about what happened that day. From the footage that surfaced online, this looks like it was a truly terrifying ordeal.

The scary moment was caught on camera.
In the footage originally obtained by TMZ, Ian can be seen driving down Hollywood Boulevard when he appears to be approached by a biker gang. He got out of his car and seemed to throw the first punch, at which point he was surrounded by the other bikers, thwarting his attempt to escape.
Eventually, Ian makes it across the street to safety, bringing the brawl to an end.
His daughter was with him at the time.
Mia was riding in the car with her dad when the fight broke out, and she (understandably) looked shaken up by the incident and was crying by the time her dad made it back to her.
The footage from TMZ shows Ian running back across the street to comfort her. He can be seen hugging and kissing his daughter and asking if she's OK.
Now, Ian is speaking out.
On Monday, Ian released a statement about what happened, calling it an "alarming incident."
"While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation," he wrote. "In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself."

He said that he and his daughter are 'unscathed.'
But at the same time, he claimed that the fact that this happened at all proves that there is a "larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior."
"As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient," he continued.
He's thanking his loved ones for their support.
"I am thankful for the support of my family, friends, and fans during this time. It’s in challenging moments like these that the strength and unity of our community are most vital. Happy new year," Ian concluded.
It's good to hear that he and his daughter are safe and unharmed. Here's hoping an incident like this doesn't happen again.
