Finding the perfect name for your baby is a challenge. Parents spend a lot of time making sure that their child will have a name that feels right to them. There are a lot of factors that go into the baby naming process, and every experience is personal to the people making the decision.
Despite the personal nature of naming your baby, baby naming trends do exist. There are a lot of little ones named Arya thanks to Game of Thrones, and many Kylos because of Star Wars in recent years. It's rare that a social media trend has any bearing on baby names, but after the recent TikTok "demure" trend made its way into the world, parents are digging it.

The TikTok trend started innocently.
Unless you live under a rock, you've likely heard about the "demure" trend. If you are somehow unfamiliar, it was started by TikTok creator Jools Lebron. In the video, she uses the word to describe the way she does her makeup for work, a passing commentary on the way people show up at the office. When she posted it at the beginning of August, there was no way to know how it would blow up.
No one could have anticipated the way the trend would take off so quickly.
Lebron's video went viral almost instantly, and it felt like everyone was jumping on the trend. You couldn't go anywhere on the internet without hearing someone calling something "demure" or "mindful." Brands on social media were using it in their marketing, "demure" crafts were popping up on Etsy. Lebron even had to fight to be the person who copyrighted the phrase when another person tried.

"Demure" has only been in the public consciousness for a few weeks, and it seems that even new parents are already jumping on the trend.

"Oh y’all are INFLUENCED," the most popular comment reads.
"We just gone call her DeDe … congratulations," another person wrote.
"I knew it was coming," another person wrote, adding a crying emoji.
There are multiple baby Demures popping up already.
