Prince William & Kate Middleton Are Beginning To Prepare Prince George for His Future as King

With King Charles on the throne and Prince William still in line, the time when 11-year-old Prince George becomes the king of England is a long way off, but it’s definitely in his future. Royal experts are now claiming that as George’s role is at the top of his parents’ minds, Will and Kate Middleton already starting to prepare him to lead someday – after all, he’ll be the second in line much sooner than he’ll be king.

But because George is still a kid, of course, they have to maintain a delicate balance.

As Hello! magazine reported, one of these preparations was truly out in the open earlier this month when George joined his parents at Buckingham Palace for a party for veterans on VE Day. From what we can see, he might be a total natural at this whole royal thing already. He didn’t just fill a seat – he was happy to chat with the veterans about their service.

“What was it like, when you were coming in?” George asked one 101-year-old D Day veteran, Alfred, during the event.

It seems like the veterans appreciated George being there, too, because Alfred told him, “You know, it’s very important you are here today. It’s days like this that we should use to talk about things like this, so the younger generation can have some understanding.”

Royal author Robert Jobson told Hello! that it was a “really good move” on Will and Kate’s part for George to be there.

“They are preparing him for public life,” he said. “Kids can find it difficult to meet people, shake their hands and look them in the eye, but he does it very well. I think what they’re trying to achieve is that he’s relaxed in that sort of situation, and I thought it was very successful.”

That doesn’t mean George is going to jump into working royal life anytime soon, though. After all, he is still a kid.

“I think they’re trying to be careful not to overwhelm him, because he’s at a delicate age, but it’s very important, given that the late Queen is no longer here, to have that continuity going forward,” Robert added to the magazine.

So far, George seems to be doing just fine. He has a big future, but fortunately, he has some great teachers around him to prepare him for what lies ahead.
