Kylie Kelce Opens Up About the Parenting Struggle She Still Faces After Baby No. 4

As a mom of four, Kylie Kelce is known for sharing her honest and unfiltered parenting wisdom with her followers. Her takes are often humorous and relatable, and she has made it clear that she still doesn’t have all the answers. On a recent episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie got candid about one parenting question that she still struggles to answer: “Can someone tell me when you’re supposed to stop wiping your kids’ butts?”

She asked other parents to weigh in.

Kylie braced herself for criticism as she posed the question to other parents. “I could be about to get dragged on the Internet,” she admitted. She went on to explain why she still struggles with this particular issue. It’s largely a hygiene concern for Kylie.

“I don’t like the idea of them wiping and then doing the questionable kid wash of the hands and then coming downstairs and touching things,” Kylie said on the podcast. “So we are still wiping poops.”

She wanted to know what other moms thought but also anticipated that her concern about it might be a bit controversial. “All the moms out there, can you tell me so that we can sort of add them all up and get the average of when we should stop wiping their butts specifically for poop?” she asked. “OK? Don’t come for me. Please.”

Other parents shared their thoughts with Kylie.

Many other parents suggested that the answer to Kylie’s question is not about age but more about hand-washing ability. Additionally, several parents noted that they think it’s important that kids can wipe their butts on their own before starting kindergarten.

“Our 5.5 is going to kindergarten in August and we have been working on how to do it and to do it by herself so she’s good at school,” one fan commented. Another parent shared, “I stopped wiping when I checked after they wiped and make sure it’s clean AND they can wash hands.”

A teacher also agreed with these parents’ advice. “I’m a Kindergarten teacher and that is the perfect age to completely stop wiping for them (because their teachers won’t do it at school),” the person commented. “Let’s call it summer learning before Kinder! No pressure before then :-)”

Kylie clearly has a reason to be concerned about hygiene.

Kylie and Jason Kelce are parents to Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, whom they welcomed in March 2025. Currently, their three older daughters frequently yell for their parents to wipe their butts. Although Kylie tried to encourage them to call for their dad in the beginning, they’ve now moved on to yelling for “anyone that they were previously with or that they know is in the middle of something.”

“That’s usually the one they ask for: the person who’s in the middle of a task,” Kylie said on the podcast.

One story she told about her daughter Bennett made it very clear why hygiene continues to be a concern for Kylie: After Kylie helped Bennett wipe her butt, she proceeded to wipe her butt some more with her dress.

“I stood at the sink to wash my hands after I helped her wash her hands, and I turned to look at her in the hallway, and she was actively wiping her butt with her dress that we were about to put back on,” Kylie explained. “And so I told her, ‘We can’t put the dress back on. You just wiped it up your butt. You literally flossed your butt crack.'”

To Bennett, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, because it means she might be able to change into a new princess dress.
