While it’s definitely not the first time Kim Kardashian has been called out for flaunting her wealth and not seeming to recognize her own privilege, some fans were still shocked when she opened up about her “stem cell journey.” In a lengthy Instagram post, Kim explained that she was looking for a solution to the “debilitating pain” she experienced two years ago. However, the solution she found didn’t exactly sound accessible to the average person, especially given that it required traveling to Mexico for treatment.
Kim explained that she tore her shoulder two years ago.
In her post, Kim said she injured herself while lifting weights. When looking for ways to cope with the pain, Kim “tried everything to find relief,” but nothing worked — until she discovered stem cell therapy. She boasted about the treatment and her doctor, Dr. Adeel Khan, and said “the results were immediate” when “his team treated my shoulder with Dezawa Muse cells™️.”
She added that the treatment made her shoulder feel totally normal again. “I regained full range of motion, and my shoulder has felt completely normal ever since,” she wrote.
She also recommended the treatment for back pain.
In the same post, Kim described seeking out the same treatment again due to “chronic back pain.” “I experienced relief right away, and the unbearable pain is finally gone,” Kim said. “If you’re struggling with back pain, I can’t recommend this treatment enough — it’s transformed my life when I thought my body was breaking down.”
Though she recommended this treatment to others, she admitted that it wasn’t exactly easy to obtain. “Since Muse stem cells aren’t yet accessible in the US, I had to travel to Mexico to be treated by Dr. Khan’s team,” Kim wrote at the end of her post. “I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity and resources to pursue this healing, and I pray the science continues to evolve so more people can benefit.”
She also urged people to “do your (their) own homework and talk to medical professionals” because “everyone is different.”
The key difference? Most people can’t afford this.
Fans didn’t appreciate Kim’s advice given that the treatment she was promoting is not accessible to the average person. On Reddit, one person wrote that they interpreted Kim’s post to mean, “Of course, everyone is different, and I’m just sharing what has worked for me because I am richer than f—. You probably can’t afford any of this and will just have to suffer as a poor. But don’t forget to like my post!”
Another critic said Kim “really knows no bounds.”
On Instagram, people were equally disgusted by the “ridiculous” post. “I might jump on my private jet and head to Mexico then 🤔 thanks for the tip. Really useful 👍” one person responded.
“Imagine posting this while millions of Americans are about to lose their healthcare coverage (or already have) bc one of your best friend’s dads that was elected president,” someone else commented. “The disconnect is BEYONNDDD…BEYONNNNND!🙄🙄🙄🙄”
Another person said they will continue “just living with the pain” since they’re not “a millionaire.” To emphasize just how unrelatable the post was, someone else said, “My debit card was declined at 7-11, Kim.”
