‘Blippi’ Star & Wife Called Out by Fans for Fake-Out Pregnancy Announcement

People really want Blippi star Clayton Grimm and his wife, Bella, to have a baby, so after the couple teased a pregnancy announcement, fans are not happy. It all started with a video that Clayton and Bella shared on Instagram to announce their exciting news, but when that news turned out not to be about a baby Blippi, people are revolting — and some are even calling their trick “cruel and hurtful.”

The video started with a close up of Bella’s tummy.

The video starts with a close up look of Bella holding a folded up piece of paper against her belly as the screen reads, “We have a very special announcement.” Then, she unfolds the paper to reveal a plane ticket as the text on the screen says, “we’re going to London!”

In the background, it looks like she and Clayton are standing in an airport as they start dancing, as one does when they’re celebrating an exciting international trip.

Between the way that the video started and the caption on the post — where Bella wrote, “we’ve been waiting for this for a long time” — people were convinced that this was their way of sharing that they’re having a baby, and boy, do they have big feelings about it.

Reactions ranged from bummed out to outraged.

Most people are just a little bummed that the announcement wasn’t real — it got them all excited over nothing!

But then, there are people who pointed out that this kind of joke actually isn’t funny, given how insensitive it can be to those struggling with infertility as they try to conceive a baby for real.

“Yea fake pregnancy announcements are soooo cute to people going through infertility struggles,” one person wrote. “Come for me if you want but these types of videos are never cute or funny. They’re cruel and hurtful and incredibly thoughtless.”

Another added, “Aww pretending to be pregnant to announce a trip is kinda low. Thought you two were way better than that.”

Others are still holding out hope that a baby announcement is still coming soon, though: “We need a Baby Grimm update…but enjoy London and come back with a baby!”

This isn’t the first time Clayton and Bella have run into an issue like this.

So many people are rooting for these two to have a mini Blippi that they are constantly getting questions about whether or not they’re expecting, as they have pointed out more than once in videos like this one above.

It has to be tiresome to constantly be asked the same question, especially since it’s nobody’s business when (or if) they plan to expand their family in the future.

But maybe tricking people out like they did wasn’t the best plan if they’re trying to be sensitive to fans who struggle with fertility. There must have been a better way to talk about their London vacation!
