Ava Phillippe Claps Back at Online Trolls Who Told Her She Needs To Take Ozempic

No matter what, women’s bodies are always a topic of conversation, especially when it comes to female celebrities. Given that they’re in the public eye, they usually have many strangers commenting on their bodies, which is absolutely not fair — and is why it's totally understandable when they finally fight back.

Ava Phillippe, daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, recently shared a video on social media addressing online trolls who felt that they had the right to comment on her body. She described the troll attack as a "major milestone" for her as a woman on social media, and she gained a lot of new fans in the process.

She said it was basically a rite of passage.

@avaephillippe Pretty is as pretty does, babes...& bodyshaming is simply toxic behavior. #loveyouasyouare ♬ Just A Girl (From "Clueless") - Soundtrack Wonder Band

In the video Ava posted on TikTok, she is standing in what looks like a bathroom. The song "Just a Girl" by No Doubt is playing, and 24-year-old Ava is in front of the camera while the text flashes above her.

"NBD, but I just achieved a major milestone as a woman online," she wrote. She is moving around timidly, not looking into the camera as the words continue.

The messages she received were perfect examples of what women deal with.

"I saw 2 different strangers commenting on my body. The first said I should get on Ozempic because I'm too fat," she writes, while reaching for a tube of lipstick. "The second accused me of starving myself because I'm too thin."

Ava then begins to apply the crimson red lipstick to her lips while looking into the camera. “My weight did not change in the time period between their comments,” she added.

Ava's not the only woman who is tired of this behavior.

She continued, sharing that even if there was some time between the comments, "it wouldn't be any of their business."

"It's such bulls—," she wrote, smearing the lipstick across her face. "No one deserves to be picked apart for what they look like. You don't always know what someone's gone through or what they struggle with."

Good for Ava taking a stand.

"Pretty is as pretty does, babes … & body shaming is simply toxic behavior. #loveyouasyouare," she captioned the video, adding a note. "(P.S. I put 'woman' because I see this type of thing happening disproportionately to young girls & women, but let me be clear; body shaming is toxic no matter who the subject is. We all deserve to feel safe & at peace in the vessel we live in.)"

Her followers have her back.

And that includes her famous mom, Reese, who commented, "Yes to all of this."

A comment from a fan reads: "I have never understood why people think they need to make comments about other people's bodies … it's so, so unnecessary. love you, and this message!!"

"I wish I would have heard this message as a young woman," another follower wrote. "I am so impressed with your wisdom and compassion."
