Jeremy is opening up about his daughter's reaction.
As part of his upcoming special, Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview — A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph, which streams on Friday on Hulu, Jeremy revealed that he'd spent the night before the accident celebrating the new year with his family and friends. At that point, no one knew what was to come, including his 10-year-old daughter, Ava.
It was a scary experience for her, too.
"She didn't have to say anything," he said. "She said she's scared. She said she loved me."
Considering that the accident led to Jeremy breaking more than 30 bones after he was crushed by a 7-ton snowplow, we have a feeling his entire family probably felt the same way she did that day.
It sounds like she's been instrumental in his recovery.
Jeremy took to his Instagram Stories last month to wish Ava a happy birthday, sharing a heartfelt message about what his daughter means to him.
"So very proud of you in every way. Your hugs and your love, have healed me so incredibly fast," the proud dad wrote. "I stand up for you, and I am stronger than before because of you."

Despite what has happened, it sounds like Jeremy is staying positive.
"I've lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I've been refueled and refilled with love and titanium," he tells Diane in the interview.
We are so inspired by Jeremy's attitude after such a horrifying experience. May he continue to recover and stay healthy.
