Celebrity diets are something that have always fascinated fans — but not necessarily for positive reasons. Diet culture and society’s views of women’s bodies can affect us whether we're in the public eye or not, but celebrities are under constant scrutiny. And now, talk show host and actress Kelly Ripa is coming under fire after an interview with her nutritionist revealed how little she eats daily. Many are calling out how sharing this information creates body image issues and promotes dangerous ideas about food for women.

Kelly's nutritionist revealed that she snacks constantly.

Dr. Daryl Gioffre, Kelly's nutritionist, spoke with E! News, detailing everything she eats in a day. And to many it may not look like very much. According to Gioffre, much of Kelly’s diet consists of greens, "healthy fats," and a constant snack of raw nuts.
Kelly is a busy empty nester.
Kelly, who has hosted the popular morning talk show Live for over 20 years, currently shares hosting duties with husband Mark Consuelos, with whom she shares three kids in their 20s.
"I've never met someone who is busier than Kelly," Gioffre said. "She is supermom. She is just amazing on the show. She works out seven days a week, and she maintains this incredible strength eating lifestyle that I've taught her."

Here are some examples of what she eats.
Gioffre explained that Kelly starts her morning with dehydrated greens mixed into a glass of water and coffee mixed with grass-fed butter. She doesn’t eat until after taping her show. For lunch, she has some variation of a salad, grilled or steamed veggies, and then will add a protein for dinner.
And what about dessert?
He shared that if Ripa wants to have dessert, she will have avocado chocolate mousse or a chocolate chia seed pudding. Before bed, she will drink a cup of detox tea.
"It's not about deprivation," Gioffre claims. "It's about moderation."
People are having a lot of opinions about this diet.
Many people are taking issue with not only Kelly’s diet, but the fact that E! News decided to share the interview with Gioffre.
One person commented: "This is a potentially damaging article to those who struggle with food. Can we focus on something else other than celeb diet culture? Tysm."
"I really believe she has body dysmorphia," another shared. "Some people get so obsessed with their weight that even if they look unhealthy to them they look fine."
"Her diet is as scary as you would think — a few tablespoons of almond butter and micro greens," someone else said.
So far, Kelly hasn't responded to the backlash.
