Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s Tax Filing Reveals They Worked Just 1 Hour a Week

If you've ever wondered exactly how much Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are actually working between the interviews and the public appearances, it looks like you finally have your answer. Their Archewell Foundation's tax filing has been released, and apparently, the couple worked just one hour a week in 2021.

According to the tax return documents, which were obtained by the Daily Mail, Archewell Foundation received $13,005,660 in donations in 2021.

Just $4,470 of that came from the public, while the rest was donated by two "wealthy philanthropists."

One of those large donations is raising some eyebrows now.

One individual donated $10 million.

This has led to a lot of speculation that the donor in question is Oprah Winfrey as a sneaky way of paying Harry and Meghan for the tell-all interview they did with her in March 2021.

The Daily Mail also speculates that the other large donation of $3 million was from Harry to his own organization out of the advance he received for his memoir, Spare.

Harry and Meghan claimed to work one hour a week each.

The couple has a lot of different projects in the works, and their foundation is just one of them. Still, it's a bit surprising to see it in writing that they each only worked for 52 hours all year long at Archewell, even if they didn't take a salary.

James Holt, Archewell's CEO, also worked one hour a week for a salary of $59,846 plus more than $3,000 in other benefits.

They had several other expenses.

Archewell gave out $3 million in grants across 25 organizations in the US and donated an additional $186,319 to UK organizations.

They also spent more than $400,000 on legal fees, $12,096 on travel, and $69,042 on conventions and meetings.

They've had a very busy couple of years.

Since walking away from royal life permanently, Harry and Meghan have cut deals with brands such as Netflix and Spotify and seem to have been working hard to figure out an independent way of making income.

Maybe they're spending less time on Archewell because of that, but it'll be interesting to see how the 2022 numbers add up when those documents are eventually released.
