Meghan Markle’s ‘Nature-Inspired’ Food Hack Gets Roasted as Another ‘Unoriginal’ Lifestyle Tip

Meghan Markle just showcased a handy trick she uses to cut a pineapple. Some critics are not all that impressed. On May 30, the Duchess of Sussex took to social media to share a clip that was cut from the first season of her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. As for why the pineapple cutting hack didn’t make it on the show, Meghan offered a simple explanation: “There just wasn’t enough time.”

‘Nature has given you all the cues,’ Meghan explained.

In the clip, Meghan shared her pineapple cutting strategy with Randi Karin. “Instead of just cutting it, to make the perfect little bite, you follow the wedge,” Meghan explained as she demonstrated where to cut. “When nature has given you all the cues on how to have a perfect taste of something…”

Meghan also encouraged fans to “rewatch or catch up on the show as we gear up for Season 2 this summer and all the fun to come with (As Ever).”

Critics accused Meghan of getting the tip from social media.

In the clip Meghan shared via Instagram, Randi confirmed that the hack works well. However, critics of the hack accused Meghan of being unoriginal.

One critic pointed out that if you “peruse social media,” you will see that “this method has been around for YEARS.”

Others on X alleged that many of Meghan’s hacks can be found on TikTok and Pinterest. “She copied it from other creators,” a second critic claimed.

Another person added that “there is nothing special or new about this.”

After watching the clip, a fourth critic joked, “Look everyone !!! She’s been surfing Pinterest.”

But others were eager to try it.

Despite the naysayers, some people were eager to try the pineapple hack for the first time after seeing it in Meghan’s video.

“Why didn’t I know this ?” one person wrote on X. “Thanks for sharing.”

A second added, “I just tried it, well I’ll be darned!”

It’s not the first time Meghan has been called out for sharing something unoriginal.

Meghan’s Netflix show and lifestyle brand have garnered a lot of criticism. In April, Meghan’s “Chantilly Lili” recipe was published by The New York Times. The publication noted that the recipe “is based on a banana pudding recipe of Meghan’s grandmother.” But that didn’t stop people from criticizing Meghan for sharing a recipe that “has been around forever.”
