Officer Who Arrested Justin Timberlake Reportedly Had No Idea Who He Was

Justin Timberlake’s recent arrest is making headlines for a new reason. On June 18, the singer/actor was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, after allegedly driving while intoxicated. Over the course of the day, more details emerged, including his mugshot. Because of his tarnished public reputation, which may have been made worse by the way ex-girlfriend Britney Spears wrote about him in her recent memoir, people on social media are rejoicing in Justin’s misfortune. Jokes about his arrest immediately began to circulate, and they only picked up after details of his interaction with the arresting officer were made public.

Apparently, the police officer didn't know who the Grammy winner was.

According to Page Six, the officer who arrested Justin was unaware of his level of fame during their interaction.

“The cop didn’t know who he was at first,” a source told the outlet. “Justin said under his breath, ‘This is going to ruin the tour.’ The cop replied, ‘What tour?’ Justin said, ‘The world tour.’”

Justin is currently in the middle of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which is set to resume on June 21.

The quote spread like wildfire.

That statement sent shockwaves through social media, with people clamoring to make their own version of the joke.

“I already feel like 'this is going to ruin the tour. the world tour' is gonna enter my vocabulary for the next six months,” one person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote.

“Gonna start saying 'this is going to ruin the world tour' whenever someone holds me accountable for my actions,” another user wrote.

The jokes seemed to write themselves.

“‘This is going to ruin the tour,’ I whisper when my PTO request gets denied,” someone else wrote.

“I've already started saying 'this is going to ruin the tour' under my breath at work,” another person wrote.
