Although residents of the UK are eagerly anticipating King Charles' May coronation, it sounds like there's one person who remains less than enthused about the upcoming celebration. One royal expert predicts that Prince Harry will make the trek back home solo because Meghan Markle likely isn't "brave enough" to face the family.
Princess Diana's old butler is making some pretty big predictions about how it will all go down.
According to butler Paul Burrell, Harry's dad has held onto "the moral high ground" by extending an invitation to his son and daughter-in-law.
"It's likely to be incredibly uncomfortable for them if they attend, particularly Meghan," he told Closer Magazine, via the New York Post. "Are they prepared to face the music?"
Apparently, with everything that's been said since they left the royal family behind in 2020, Meghan may be too scared to wade into enemy territory.
Paul doesn't think Meghan has what it takes.
Despite watching her stand up for what is right at every turn since entering the national spotlight, Paul doesn't have faith in Meghan's ability to keep her head up while rubbing elbows with the royals.
"I don't think Meghan's brave or strong enough to be there — she'd have to look in the eyes of a family she's pushed under the bus," Paul continued.
Meghan may still support Harry's decision to go.
The mother of two may not be feeling the love from her in-laws, but Paul thinks that she likely gave her husband the go-ahead.
"I think Harry may come alone and she's probably told him she won't be able to be by his side with him if he does attend," Paul predicts of the May 6 event.
The pair only just recently received their invitations and likely haven't had much time to plan for the ceremony yet.
Charles may have the high ground, but it's all up to the Sussexes now.
Whatever happens next, Paul says that "the ball is well and truly in Harry and Meghan's court."
It's hard to imagine what they will do, considering the duo have not been quiet about their feelings toward the royal family.
There's also likely to be another emotional layer to their decision on whether to go: Harry's mom.
In another life this would've been Princess Diana's big day too.
If it wasn't for Queen Consort Camilla, Princess Diana could've been getting ready to be crowned alongside Charles, something Paul concedes may influence Harry's decision about going.
The former butler admits that it's likely going to be hard for Harry to see his stepmother "where his mother could have been."
We still have just under two months to see how this all shakes out. Hopefully the family can put their differences aside and come together for this historic event.
