Ladies, get your grilling engines ready; it's Shish Kabob time. I don't know what it is, but there’s something about summer that makes people want to eat food on a stick, and I can wholeheartedly get behind that idea. Sure there’s the normal corn dog route, but if you really want to amp up your cooking repertoire, kabobs are the surefire way to rack up some bonus points with the family. It’s the perfect way to add some summer flare to your weekly dinner routine.
The possibilities are unlimited. Do you like pineapples? Throw 'em on the stick! How about chicken AND shrimp? Put 'em both on! Take your fine self to the grill and show 'em what you've got!

6. Colorful Fruit Kabobs
You didn't think we'd forget dessert, did you? For this recipe, you can choose to grill the fruit or take the easy (and just as yum) route and simply stack the fruit on the skewers. If you're looking to add a little extra sugar, serve the fruit kabobs with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
Ingredients:
10 strawberries, hulled
10 pieces of cantaloupe or 10 pieces of mandarin oranges
10 pieces of pineapple, canned
10 pieces of kiwi or 10 pieces of honeydew melon
20 blueberries
10 disposable skewers
Directions:
1. If using wooden skewers, make sure to remove all splinters.
2. Cut the fruit that is not already small into bite-size chunks.
3. Skewer the strawberry, the cantaloupe or orange, the pineapple, and the kiwi or honeydew, then finish off the skewer with two blueberries. Make sure that you have pushed the fruit up high enough so that they won't fall off.
