So what if Halloween hasn't even happened yet? Or Thanksgiving? For those of us who LOVE Christmas, it's never too early to start firing up Christmas tunes, binge-watching Hallmark movies, and decorating the house with some holiday cheer. And this year, it looks like all of Instagram is getting in on a new holiday decor trend that might be worth checking out. They're called unicorn trees — and they are all sorts of magical.
That's right -- you can officially take your unicorn obsession to a whole new level with one of these bad boys.
They're pretty easy to create, because you can buy a pint-sized white or pink Christmas tree as the base, some pink, white, or purple lights, and a gold crown or unicorn horn to top things off. But the best part is, they can left up for way longer than your typical tree, because they won't dry out.
These pretty trees offer a little extra somethingto any space, and are a nice alternative to anyone who loves nontraditional decor ideas.
You can even set up one as a kind of "birthday tree" if you've got a kid who's super into unicorns. (The possibilities are endless!)
Or they could work as a year-round display, if you're looking to add a touch of magic to a kiddo's bedroom or playroom.
In that case, one of these trees could be a nice addition to a reading nook or play area.
If you're in need of a little inspiration, all you have to do is search the hashtag #UnicornTree on Instagram, and you'll be met with more than 1,000 photos of pretty white and pink trees wrapped in twinkling lights.
Of course, this isn't the first time we've gotten carried away with new ornamental tree ideas.
Halloween trees have been popping up left and right over the last few years, allowing Halloween lovers everywhere to decorate for the spooky holiday in a whole new way. (And if you haven't yet put up one in your home, you're seriously missing out on how fun they are.)
And just last month, we were all introduced to the rainbow Christmas tree -- aka the holiday tree we didn't even know we needed.
Rainbow Christmas trees may not be everyone's cup of tea, but they sure are beautiful, bright, and modern — not to mention a whole lotta fun.
I don't know about you, but I'm kinda digging this whole alternative Christmas trees thing. After decades of the same old holiday tree, why not mix it up a bit?
