Doctor Shares Hilarious PSA About Not Putting Holiday Decorations Where They Don’t Belong

Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can finally say it is officially the Christmas season. Sure, some people started decorating weeks ago, but for those who held out, now is the time to go crazy with decorations. Well, not too crazy. A doctor on TikTok posted a PSA about holiday decorating that we didn't see coming.

Adam Aston, aka @adamgaston on the social media platform, posted a viral TikTok about some new décor at Target and advised people on how not to use it. Fair warning: The hilarious video may leave you unable to look at a Christmas tree the same way ever again.

Aston makes the warning as a professional.

He posted the video on Halloween, and it has 9.8 million views. He explains that Target started to put out Christmas decorations, but he thought that it was important that customers were aware of hidden dangers.

"I feel like I should stop for a moment, as a doctor, and give a small PSA," he says in the clip.

Aston then cuts to a handheld Christmas tree decoration and says, "Do not put this where it doesn't belong."

So, what does he mean exactly?

The video features 12 small holiday decorations that Aston will definitely persuade you to believe resemble sex toys, and the next thing you know, you're thinking dirty thoughts and can't let them go. One after another, he shows us trees, snowmen, and nutcrackers, warning, "Don't put things where they don't belong. Please. Please."

Aston told Buzzfeed he shared the funny PSA to hopefully prevent accidents. Still, he also admitted that there is no shame in seeking help if you need it. "Medical professionals have really seen it all, so there is no need to sacrifice timely medical attention because of embarrassment or anticipated judgment," he explained.

People were dying over his TikTok.

The laughs that this TikTok got. Some people knew exactly what the doctor meant.

"my moms fancy ornaments look like these questionable items and she has a giant one as the topper and doesn't understand why we laugh," one person commented.

So many laughs. "All I could think of were those surrounding you when you made this ," another person wrote.

"You know someone, SOMEBODY out there, is going to do this — strictly because you said not to," someone else suggested.

Some TikTokers didn't see it coming.

There were so many sweet, naïve comments.

Like this one: "Not me at first thinking don't put them on the edge of the counter because they'll fall and give you a cut."

And this comment: "I have little kids and thought, yeah you wouldn't want them down low where the kids could break them sir, I was unprepared for the truth."

This one, too: "I swear I thought you were going to do a PSA about kid safety or fire safety (candles and such) didn't expect this tho lol."

With the number of commenters who admitted to seeing this kind of thing before, Aston was clearly not far off.

"I volunteered in the er and I immediately knew what you were talking about the nurses told me so many things ," one person wrote.

Others had suggestions.

"As a scrub tech, I totally agree! I mean, they are my favorite call cases bc, omg. Just save yourself the embarrassment. Please attach a string ," another comment reads.

Seriously, this not an uncommon thing.

"I worked at an urgent care & the doc there showed xrays from the ER. I couldn't BELIEVE how many people put things where It does NOT belong ," someone else shared.

Doc, thanks for keeping us informed and making us laugh. And please know, you have totally changed the way we'll look at small glass and ceramic Christmas trees for the rest of our lives. Thanks a lot.
