This YouTuber’s Lip Fillers Clogged Her Blood Vessels And The Photos Are Terrifying

More and more often, YouTubers are speaking out about their terrifying experiences with plastic surgery and injectables. They're doing so to spread awareness about the procedures' many risks and to warn viewers of the potential side effects of fillers. Now another influencer is speaking out.

A beauty influencer known as Jordi just posted a graphic video detailing her irreversible blood, which caused some scary complications with her recent lip injections. The story serves a cautionary tale to everyone out there considering the procedure and brings to light the rare but relevant side effects one can face.

In case you're unfamiliar, this is Jordi.

She's also known on YouTube and Instagram as It's Likely Makeup. The beauty vlogger with more than 700K subscribers has gained popularity for her over-the-top eye looks, blinding highlights, and full pout. And after getting dozens of inquiries about the authenticity of those Kylie Jenner-level lips, she posted a video spilling all the tea.

Titled Lip Injections Gone Wrong, Jordi's video goes in-depth about her experience with fillers.

And as expected, the details weren't pretty. The makeup maven described suffering from necrosis, a irreversible condition that causes the body's cells or tissue to die. The symptoms often include bruising, discoloration, swelling, and numbness.

"Disclaimer: I knew the risk i was taking when i had lip injections. what happened to me is extremely rare. i wanted to share so that you can be extra educated in making a decision. all negative comments will be deleted. thank you!" she wrote on YouTube.

Even more surprising, Jordi said that even after the traumatizing experience, she plans to continue receiving fillers. The reactions were of course, mixed.

This is the first controversial video for influencer who has somehow managed to stay away from beauty drama.

"Wow that’s so scary, necrosis itself is so scary, not to mention on your face must’ve been a real shocker. I love Jordi, she seems so nice and sweet and stays out of any kind of drama, but between moving and her depression and her health issues and this, it just seems like she’s going through a lot. I hope everything for her gets better and things get steady soon," someone said in a Reddit thread, sending well wishes.

Others are ready to end the societal pressures to have full lips.

"I think people can do whatever they want with their body and money if they are happy, but I can’t wait until the lip filler and butt trend is over with. It’s dangerous to these people who don’t go to the right person. A lot of them don’t disclose (which they don’t have to) that they get these procedures done which is damaging to young people’s self esteem too. & No one realizes that there will be another body type/look that will be trendy in a few years. If you look back in history it’s been a different look that has been sought after every 10 years," someone else noted.

But almost everyone is shocked that she will continue with injectables.

"Despite getting necrosis and experiencing a major medical complication, she's still going to go back and get more filler. Wow. That just doesn't seem physically or mentally healthy," a shocked fan said.

Those more versed in the medical field noted that necrosis is extremely rare.

"That is a terrifying experience and it's good she's bringing light to a very real thing that can happen during injections. However, arterial thrombosis causing skin necrosis is an incredibly rare outcome of hyaluronic acid injections done by trained professionals. I get a bit of Juvederm in my lips and I love it so much. The risks of bleeding, infection, necrosis, etc are always discussed as that's just basic informed consent.

Bottom line — if you want cosmetic filler, make sure that you are going to a legit injector. A physician or a nurse at a licensed medical center should be your gold standard. Saving a bit of money isn't worth the potential of subpar cosmetic outcome or worse," a commenter explained.

Surprisingly, even someone who has necrosis was quick to try easing the blame on Jordi's doctor.

"I've read some of the comments about maybe she didnt go to the best doctor and i dont know about her but i had a bad reaction to filler put in my face and my doctor was one of the best in my country. At first i was doing fine, little pain, not marks post procedure, nobody noticed my fillers in fact. Until one time i felt a lot more pain than usual and after the procedure i got really swollen where i had filler put in, it felt like bee stings almost, one in particular was huge like a ball and painful.

The doctor told me that i probably have an allergy to a component in the hyaluronic acid he used (i dont remember the brand) and that i shouldn't keep doing it. It was that or some sensitivity to the needles. He gave medication to reduce the swelling and offered trying again with different needles and another brand of filler. I ended up not trying again bc it was such a scare. So not worth it," a woman who suffered necrosis under similar circumstances explained.
